Anyone watching what NE is doing.

Look, I'm admittedly no fantasy or player depth expert.

They are very active here in free agency on the D. They already have Barmore (health?) and Gonzalez. They've been a top 5 D last 3 or 4 years with the worst OFF in football.

Bet your b@lls they will now be all in on the OFF in draft.

    Thoughts on signings?

    From MSN
The most important offseason in recent Patriots' history is in full swing, and on the first day of the legal free agency tampering period, Mike Vrabel and Eliot Wolf hit plenty of home runs.
A roster in dire need of upgrades certainly got plenty of them, headlined by the blockbuster signing of defensive tackle Milton Williams from Philadelphia.

The Patriots had the most money to spend - $126 million to be exact - and Vrabel hit a grand slam by bringing Williams to New England. If Christian Barmore is healthy, those two guys will make the Patriots' defensive line one of the best in the AFC.
    Grade: A+

    CB Carlton Davis III
Davis was one of the top cornerbacks available, and Christian Gonzalez now has an equally-talented partner opposite him in New England's secondary.
Davis had a strong season in Detroit - two interceptions and 11 pass breakups - before his season was cut short by a broken jaw after 13 games.
Assuming Jonathan Jones will move on in free agency, this move immediately bolsters New England's secondary.
    Grade: A

    LB Harold Landry
A guy who played for Vrabel in Tennessee, the Patriots' first splash of free agency was to add the veteran pass rusher from the Titans.
New England's pass rush was an unheralded weak spot of its roster a season ago, and Landry gives the Patriots speed and versatility on the edge.
    Grade: A-

    LB Robert Spillane
The Patriots continued to upgrade their linebacking core by snatching Spillane from the Raiders, agreeing to a three-year deal with the 28-year-old.
His 158 tackles - 76 solo - ranked him fourth among linebackers across the league last season, and Spillane will fortify this position opposite Ja'Wahun Bentley, whom the Patriots hope can stay healthy after he missed most of last year with an injury.
    Grade: A-

    OT Morgan Moses
The Patriots needed to address the offensive line and are off to a good start with the inking of the former Jets' tackle to a three-year deal.
Moses is 34 years old and has been in the league for 11 seasons, so he brings a wealth of versatility and stability to an offensive line that desperately needs it. Moses has played right tackle for most of his career, but is likely the first rebuilding block in front of Maye.

There seems to be a switch in philosophy on defense. They traded away bulky Davon Godchaux, a run stuffing DT, and signed Milton Williams and Harold Landry, both smaller and quicker front 7 players who can generate a decent pass rush. It looks like Vrabel is valuing pass rush over clogging the middle. After signing Carlton Davis to be their CB2, it seems like they will fare better against the pass.

McDaniels has always favored the use of a fullback, and the Patriots are so devoid of offensive weapons that I think we could see lots of runs between the tackles behind a fullback. With a defense where the biggest weakeness appears to be defending runs between the tackles, I think this likely adds up to some very low total, smashmouth football games. There might be a some opportunities to play unders in NE games if the stars align right.

      Just my opinion...

Solid input. The offense last year was about as plain vanilla as possible. McDaniels will bring some creativity back.

          Another opinion

          New England Patriots

Notable Signings: CB Carlton Davis III, DT Milton Williams, EDGE Harold Landry III, OT Morgan Moses, LB Robert Spillane, WR Mack Hollins

          Notable Departures: DT Davon Godchaux

The New England Patriots have been one of the most active teams at the start of free agency. They kicked things off by adding Harold Landry III on Sunday and then backed that up by adding talent at all three levels of their defense. The combination of Landry, Milton Williams, Robert Spillane, and Carlton Davis III gives this defense a very different look from what we saw in 2024.

Davis and Christian Gonzalez are now one of the strongest cornerback duos in the NFL. Adding Williams and Landry to a defensive line with Christian Barmore means the Patriots have assembled a very talented group across their front. Williams, at $26 million per year, may end up looking like an overpay. Still, the Patriots have cap space to spend, and Williams has proven himself capable of causing havoc in opposing passing games.

Offensively, there is still more work to do, but adding the veteran stability and reliability of Morgan Moses at tackle is a shrewd move. They still need to add more talent at wide receiver to give Drake Maye more reliable weapons, but there is plenty of wide receiver depth still available, and there is some intriguing talent in the draft that they could target in the first round.
