NFL considering flex scheduling for MNF
The NFL is considering flex scheduling for Monday Night Football, which could make sure all primetime games feature competitive teams, something that hasn’t always been the case in the last few years. There has been flex scheduling for years for Sunday night primetime games, but never for Monday.

Any flex scheduling changes would not take effect until new media rights deals kick in, starting with the 2023 season. Even though the NFL has not started formal negotiations with any networks, ESPN has let it be known that it wants to incorporate flexible scheduling as part of a new “Monday Night Football” deal.

I like it personally. MNF is one of the staple "get together" events during NFL season. And late in season when it's a game between two eliminated or rather unbalanced teams, it's often a let-down, much better if it's an interesting game based on standings. Granted this makes it harder on teams due to late rescheduling, but I think the pros would outweigh the cons.

I do not think it will happen. It could become a logistic nightmare for the visiting team. Having to change hotel plans, travel plans, training plans and other plans will be very difficult. Flex scheduling for Sunday is simple. All it involves is a time change. Colleges do it all the time on Saturday's. But changing days is a completely different story.

Yes, good points. Also, the issue of what about the fans who plan for months in advance to attend a certain game (possibly in a different city), then suddenly that game gets moved from Monday to Sunday or vice-versa? Wouldn't be very fair to them.
