NFL | Darrynton Evans brings versatility

Appalachian State RB Darrynton Evans said he brings a blend of power speed and wants to continue to return kicks and punts in the NFL. 'I would say that I'm an explosive guy,' Evans said. 'I'm a patient runner but I'm also quick.'

NFL | Lucky Jackson putting in the work
Western Kentucky WR Lucky Jackson credits the work he put in off the field for his success in 2019. 'I think that my football I.Q. is the strongest part of my game,' Jackson said. :Spending that extra time in the classroom slowed the game down for me. Everything just became so much easier.'

Steelers | Bryan McLendon hired as WR coach
The Pittsburgh Steelers hired South Carolina wide receivers coach Bryan McLendon for the same position within their organization. He coached the receivers from 2015-17 before being named offensive coordinator for 2018. He was demoted back to receivers coach for the 2019 season.

Giants | Golden Tate expected to be part of plan
New York Giants WR Golden Tate is likely stick around heading into the 2020 season, as cutting him would result in $7.1 million of dead money. Beat writer Jordan Raanan says the team was happy with his production after he returned from a four-game suspension, and cutting him seems unlikely since his versatility fits what new head coach Joe Judge is hoping to accomplish in his first season at the helm.
Footballguys view: Tate could be a big part of what the Giants do on offense. His reliability as a pass-catcher and run-after-the-catch ability makes him a fine target for young quarterback Daniel Jones.

Giants | Rhett Ellison could be on the move
New York Giants TE Rhett Ellison has a $7.2 million cap number for the 2020 season, 12th among NFL tight ends. Beat writer Jordan Raanan projects Ellison, who is a solid blocker, as either an option to negotiate a pay cut or end up a cap casualty.
Footballguys view: We'll see if Ellison would be open to a pay cut or if he wants to hit the open market. He is a reserve player behind Evan Engram and isn't asked to do that much on offense outside of block.

Redskins | No future for Jordan Reed in Washington?
Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (concussion) has yet to make a final decision on playing in 2020, but he will likely be cut to save $8.5 million even if he does decide to continue his career, according to John Keim of ESPN.com.
Footballguys view: Reed just can't stay healthy. We all know that he has talent and is a dangerous starting tight end, but Reed has been bitten by multiple injury bugs over the course of his career. Washington may just decide it's time to move on from the talented but oft-injured veteran.

Redskins | Paul Richardson's time up in Washington?
Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson is 'likely' to be cut in favor of a proven veteran, according to a source familiar with head coach Ron Rivera's plans.
Footballguys view: Richardson has talent...and plenty of speed...but he's only been able to play a full 16-game season once in his six years in the NFL. He's been with Washington for two seasons and has only played 17 games combined. Richardson is under contract through the 2022 season. He has a cap hit of $8.3 million in 2020 and there is $6 million remaining in dead money.
