The Chargers are my team and I follow them very closely. The expectations are high on the heels of last season however the offseason has been pretty brutal. Melvin Gordon is holding out and might be traded, who knows if/when he will ever be back. All-world safety, Derwin james, is out for at least the first half of the season with a foot injury. The one noone is really talking about is left tackle Russell Okung has blood clots and will be out for at least 6 games and maybe longer. The oline is the team's weakness and with Okung out the backups at left tackle are worse then replacement level players. Given that, I expect Rivers and the running game to take a step back this year.

Not only that but Tyreek Hill not getting any type of suspension and I believe denver has improved.

This all checks out to me, even how much Denver has improved between bolstering the defense, finding a semi-functional QB and getting rid of the completely clueless Vance Joseph. Worth noting the Chargers won a lot of close games last year, and they'll probably see some regression in that department.

They also probably won't have such a pristine record outside of California this season, nor catch as many teams by surprise. I think 8-8 is a real possibility.

They have an easy looking first part of their schedule.

If they can manage to get their bye week at 7-4? Then could be dangerous getting James back and their left tackle.

I think the oline is going to be real problem and Rivers will be under constant fire and the run game won't be very good either. I hope that I'm wrong gl mate.
