    so...

The entire Bears starters did not play at all in any preseason games nor did the Bears have joint practices with other teams which leaves me to wonder..Is training camp/OTAs simply enough conditioning for these athletes to handle the rigors of the NFL season? Will the Bears be ready to handle/adjust to the first month of play compared to a team that has? Im not saying the Packers played much of their starters either but some of them did against the Ravens and in joint practice with the Texans before that.Anyway, Isnt it a little bit beneficial to play someone other than your teammates to get the competitive juices flowing instead of in a controlled or simulated environment?

I understand the need to minimize risk of injuries playing these meaningless preseason games but at the cost of losing some competitive edge? In theory, seems like a good idea in the long run for the team's health but i think it could backfire for the Bears this season and they'll have more injuries than they did all of last year! Well, lets see if the debate on whether NFL preseason games should continue or not and if Matt Nagy's outside the box thinking pays off. If it works, then expect the trend to continue of having no starters playing preseason and thus eventually eliminating it altogether. I'm not sold on the idea that Matt Nagy is selling but i give him kudos for trying. thus I cannot endorse the Bears in the week 1 matchup in an important divisiom rivalry game.

    some more thoughts later.

i like that Adrian Amos is on the other side, could definitely help Packers defense gameplan with the inside dish and tendencies of Trubisky. You could argue the Bears have ex-packer Clinton Dix on their side. while that is true also, its not quite the same because Pack have a new offensive system under LaFleur and Hackett so not quite as easy to gameplan against Aaron Rodgers also dont quite trust the Bears kicking game yet. Peniero had a decent preseason he did miss one FG and XP though, shanked it badly. i'll go on to say the opening game jitters may come into play here for their rookie kicker. i think losing Jordan Howard might come into play here. Mike Davis is unproven if not serviceable
