Colts vs Bills

my original pick here was going to be the Colts and its easy to see why. Colts were 3-1 in preseason last year with Frank Reich. Colts have looked good in camp. Bills have looked sloppy in camp.. sloppy to the point that Josh Allen and the 1st unit will get more play time in the 1st quarter than #1's are usually supposed to get. the Colts backup QB Jacoby Brissett and basically their 2nd unit is favored over Josh Allen and the #1's. Colts are sitting half their starters but if some of them play then it wont be more than a series or two. so...

sounds like a nice setup to me and i dont really disagree with it. Brissett is the better QB than Allen. Brissett is one of the best backups in the league and has looked good in camp. He's also played well in past preseasons. this is a first quarter matchup that the Colts probably win but what about 2nd quarter and beyond? this game ultimately comes down to Phillip Walker vs Matt Barkley for the bulk of the game and in the final quarter if the game is still competitive then the game will be decided between Chad Kelly and rookie Tyree Jackson. i'm going to take a leap with the unknown and go with the rookie. Even though Jackson comes from a small school, his work ethic in camp has won me over. mobile QBs wear out defenses still in camp shape. Sean McDermott is 0-2 in preseason week 1 but i think he finally gets one here despite the "mess" the Bills are in camp.

Patriots vs Lions

the line is very short. why is it because Brian Hoyer sucks? or maybe its because the Pats will probably throw in a rookie QB that is turning heads at camp whom noone is paying attention to. i'll go with the former because Hoyer is average and could probably lose this game for the Pats. not sure if Danny Etling is going to Get in on the action at QB because he also converted to WR. so basically its the Brian Hoyer/ Jarrett Stidham show vs Tom Savage / David Fales.. is it pronounced as fails? once again i am going to take the team with the rook QB in action.. took Broncos last thursday, and also on Bills today. Patriots have some upcoming talent they'd like to showcase: N'Keal Harry, Damien Harris, Chase Winovich, Jarrett Stidham, Joejuan Williams, Jakobi Myers. wouldnt be surprised if they all played a quarters worth or two. i cant really see who the Lions have after the 2nd units. the Pats have more upside to their roster than the Lions do. i'll take Stidham over Fales. Bellichick did Matt Patricia a favor last year and gifted Patricia his first win as head coach.

when all said and done, the Ravens still have the better depth on defense. but it may be close than expected. i'll take McSorley against Alex McGough.

Rams vs Raiders

So... Gruden is on 9-0 SU run in preseason week 1 games and his last loss was back in 2000 for an overall record of 11-1 in week 1 since '98. All the more reason for me to go against this streak..

The Raiders are a mess. the whole AB drama is a distraction. The Rams have a bit more depth and talent on the roster and i am not talking about the 1's. rookie Darrell Henderson should get a decent workload. im not sold on the Raiders defense. i think they'll get pushed around. What it really comes down to is: which QB would you rather lose your money to: Bortles or Peterman. i'll take Blake Bortles. i cant put my money on Peterman.

bit hard to say McVay has been a 2-2 guy in preseason. but im starting to see your point now. they just came off a Super Bowl loss and theyre now "established" . the hangover is gonna be real with this team. studied their offseason they are in for some notable regression. they got a tough schedule ahead
