Clock starts after incompletions on referee's signal outside last 2 minutes of 2nd period or last 5 minutes of 4th.

    Not a running clock.

Clock stops in last 2 minutes of each period when team with ball can't gain any yardage. Also there is a 2 min warning each period. And a 35 second play clock. Team will probably have the same amount of plays in this game vs. previous years.

clock starts earlier after incompletion. Same rule as regular season regarding 2 min warning, dont see how this equals to same amount of plays.

2 min warning is every quarter. 1st and 3rd get an extra stoppage.
For an avg. regular season game in 2013, the 5 second reduction in play clock works out to 10 extra plays per offense. 20 total plays. Factor in the simplification of the playbook and the fact that the coaches don't care about running down the play clock and the QBs don't need to call out blitzers or audible or adjust or say Omaha, and you'll still see a significant increase in plays in the game.

Even if the ref calls for the clock to start, its only going to have a marginal effect on the amount of plays in this game.
