    Ride The Colts Over Rams

Line movement in this one makes the Colts too good a value to pass up. Indy will get their '06 season off to a good start.

Am I missing something here? Why all the love for the home team Rams? Were they world beaters a year ago that just missed out in the playoffs a year ago? No! Do they return a veteran group with an experienced coaching staff looking to make a mark in '06? No!

Then what's the story with the line movement here?

This puppy opened up with the Rams laying less than a FG and has been bought up all week to its current number. I'm just not seeing it people!

The Colts are still a solid club on both sides of the ball. They have an experienced coaching staff in place, and will no doubt want to get the '06 season started off on the right foot after bowing out early in last year's postseason. Maybe the fact that they went 0-5 SU in the preseason has many running in herds to back the Rams. Indy does have a number of injuries to many of their defensive starters, but they weren't going to play much in this one anyway.

The Rams also plan on doing a bunch of running in this one as new HC Scott Linehan wants his offense to put forth more of a balanced attack. There are a number of injuries on both sides of the ball.

This is Week 1 people, and it's very rare to see a line over 3. The line value is too much to overlook, so back the Colts who just might have all those steam players throwing their beverages at the TV when the clock runs out.

I am not sure why the line has moved so much either. What scares me is that same money came pouring in on the Raiders and they won the game straight up as underdogs.

the colts didn't do so well last year during preason. that could be part of the reason why that line moved so much. not to mention you know those starters aren't going to play for more than 1 series most likely.

It doesn't hurt to post free picks on the site. If nothing else, it's good to hear varying analysis. Although this pick really boils down to "you are getting more points than you should in an exhibition game." No other real reason for taking the Colts... But If Mike Rose repeatedly nails his selections, his picks might be worth a look. Personally, I have never and will never pay for a selection. But I know people who do and they are happy doing so.

Well, I guess it's just as important to be lucky as it is to be good. Rams dominated this game. They should have covered handily. They blew two huge red zone chances with a missed FG and an interception in the end zone. (Plus another missed FG that may cost the kicker a chance to make the squad.) The safety should have been a TD. Sorgi sucks rocks. He was terrible. Bet against the Colts the rest of the preseason.

But they didn't cover thanks to one long 4th quarter reception and I know of at least two people who are happy -- me and Mike Rose!

Free picks don't hurt. But these guys pick like the prick or is it the prick.
