#1787Nice bit of luck on that one. This SWAC one has no shot. Both teams shooting better. So we'll be 3-2 on the 2nd halves. 2-1 on props. Will see if either of the late games lines up. Feels good to be on the right side of a ******* nightmare finish for once.Comment -

#1789The props are Bovada and I disagree about 5Dimes having better props. They often do not list the ones you can find @ Bovada and there have been a lot of occasions where while the price might be higher - you get a 0.5 or 1 LESS at Bovada vs. 5Dimes. For example right now, no player props at 5Dimes for FSU-Duke just a few team props. Bovada has player props listed and one in particular that I am looking at.
Also, the prices right now if you look at the team props in that specific game are pretty much the same at both books. There are times when you get better prices at one or the other, but I don't rate one more consistent than the other. 5Dimes IMO often gets a lot more action that results in some ridiculously high chalk on props. Bovada is much slower to react to the market if they react at all.
keep up the good work 36Comment -

#1792A-10 Conference Tournament Final: St.Bonaventure's Andrew Nicholson Total Points Over 18.5 [-130]
Player of the year that no one knows about. This kid has hit for 19 or more in ten straight games. He got Xavier for 20 in the regular season meeting and if the Bonnies want to go dancing with the automatic bid, he'll need to score at least that many again. Key for Nicholson is to be aggressive and get to the FT line. He's 14/17 in two tournament games from the line. When he gets to the line seven times or more, he's scored at least 19 pts. in 12 of 13.Comment -

#1795Good question. I looked at the PxP of that game late and just a lot of stupid fouling it looks like to me on both sides and NM State just doesn't know how to slow down apparently. No chance this Kentucky one hits, it's turned into a total grinder with no pace. Would have gone on the FSU-UNC over, but did not expect the FG %s to continue at a high clip. That one probably goes over, but it will wind up being close perhaps.
At least the Nicholson prop hits, so I can take 1-1 on the day. Think I have formulated my game plan for the Big Dance. I'm going to pick one Region to play props/sides/totals and then do 2nd halves for any game that warrants it.Comment -

#1796Hoping the 2nd halves surge back into the positive direction this coming week. Should be easier to look at with a set # of games per tip time. I think that was a little it of my problem the past week, so many games I think it got a little overwhelming and I think I probably made a handful of plays that I would have passed on with better discipline like I had during the regular season. That's really the key to me, don't force it. If you have four games in a time period and none of them match up, don't force a play. I need to put that in bold letters as my SBR play to remind myself.
I think I did the math the other day and will have to finalize the tally, but I think 2nd halves won 57-58% which is pretty damn good. I'll take that all postseason if we can get it. Likely starting a new thread for the postseason.Comment -

#18002011-2012 Regular Season Final Tally
Overall Record: 335-291-5 [+20.73] (53.5%)
2nd Halves: 232-173-2 [+41.70] (57.2%)
Can't complain too much about the final #s. Again, I plan to continue playing any 2nd halves that warrant plays throughout the postseason including NCAA, CBI, CIT & NIT. Definitely not going to waste my time on any full game plays for NIT, CBI & CIT this opening week of the NCAAs. Maybe a play here and there as the tournaments go, but I'd rather stick to 2nd halves there as my main source of plays.
Definitely sticking with the idea of playing just one region for full games, but also do plan on a strategy for the 4/13, 5/12, 6/11 in all regions in the opening rounds. Those are money makers IMO if you play them right. Futures definitely something to play as well. Think I am going to just stick with this thread, but keep a separate record for the postseason. Don't like cluttering the forum any more than I already do.Comment -

#1802Yeah. Especially during the NCAAs, it should be easy to see picks because you'll know when a group of games is coming to half time. Again, the key here is to only try and play the ones with the best edges - so there could be some slots where no plays are made even though four games may be in-progress, etc.
I try to post a pick as quick as I can do the math and figure out which one I want to play. Will have the new thread up later today. Have it whittled down to two regions I am looking at for the one I want to focus on, just trying to get it down to one!Comment -

#1803Still firming up my NCAA Region to play, but I will be making plays on selected things for the Play-In games that I like. Will also be playing 6/11, 5/12, 4/13 games from any region where I like a play too. After that though, I'm sticking to one region for my full game plays. 2nd halves as I said, I will run those for any postseason game where it makes sense. So expecting to make some tonight with NIT, etc. starting. Should have my region and futures stuff ready to go tomorrow. For now, opening pick of the postseason.

NCAA: Mississippi Valley State C Paul Crosby Total Points Over 13.5 [-125]
This kid has size and girth [6'8" & 245 lbs] to trouble a smallish Western Kentucky team that plays a four guard look. The Hilltoppers leading rebounder is a 6'2" guard, so if the Delta Devils commit to getting Crosby post touches, he should have a solid scoring game today. Crosby had a string of 14 double digit scoring games broken up in the SWAC Championship. In 11 of his last 15 games, he has put up at least 10 FGAs and he'll need probably a few more opportunities than that to feel comfortable here. He has been decent getting to the FT line and shoots 74% which will be a big bonus for this prop. He's only fouled out four times and will log heavy minutes if he's minus foul trouble. With MSVS's non-conference schedule full of power conference teams, there should be nothing to scare Crosby from having a solid game so long as those touches are there in the flow of the game.Comment -

#1813We're looking good here for these later games and skipping the Iona game = saved money. If I had the nuts, I'd have bet the under. I remember winning several Iona 2nd half unders because the numbers were always skewed overs. This one though the numbers were ridiculous and made a good one to pass on. NCAA: Vermont +110
I got to hear a radio interview with Lamar coach Pat Knight and maybe it's false respect, but he said Vermont was one of the worst teams his squad could have drawn because they like to play a slow, half court pace similar to Stephen F. Austin and Nicholls State in the Southland Conference. Lamar was 1-1 against both those squads, losing on the road to Nicholls State and SFA before taking out the Lumberjacks in the conference tournament. Knight talked about the need to speed the game up, but I'm not so sure that Vermont can't adapt to that. The Catamounts played two faster paced tourney teams that are probably both more talented and better at what Lamar wants to do than Lamar in Iona and LIU-Brooklyn, losing both games but both came down to the wire [1 pt/5pts.]. It comes down to pace, defense and rebounding. Vermont must keep the running game to a minimum to have their best chance and must keep the rebounding battle close to even where Lamar is one of the better rebounding squads stats wise. If they can keep this to a half court grinder, that is their best chance to win. If Lamar is able to establish their tempo, Vermont can still win - but it's not their best shot.Comment -
