Risking the undefeated 4-0 streak of Yale to the Moon plays
at stake here tonight with the points vs. Cornell.
Let it Live or Let it Die, By the Sword this Black Night Sky
When Some might say "there is no moon"
The Bulldogs hunger 'ere the Lune
For seedlings in the Ivy Crown
And ether moonbeams to shine down
Proud Sons of Diana, no hats do they wear
When bell tolls Nine, they Slay the Bear.

DATE & TIME: Saturday, March 5th, 7:00 p.m. (et).
FACTS & STATS: Site: Newman Arena (4,473) -- Ithaca, New York. Television: None. Home Record: Yale 9-4, Cornell 5-6. Away Record: Yale 6-7, Cornell 3-11. Neutral Record: Yale 0-1, Cornell 1-1. Conference Record: Yale 8-5, Cornell 5-8. Series Record: Cornell leads, 107-102.
GAME NOTES: The Yale Bulldogs try to close out the regular season tonight with their fourth straight win as they size up the Cornell Big Red in Ivy League action at Newman Arena.
Last night, the Bulldogs were on the road at Columbia and had to go to a pair of overtimes before emerging with an 87-81 victory, the second time during this three-game win streak that the team has had to go beyond regulation. With an 8-5 record in conference play, Yale is third in the league standings heading into the weekend.
As for the Big Red, now 5-8 in league play, they posted a 75-66 win over the Brown Bears last night at home to complete the season sweep between the two schools. The victory was the second in a row and the third in the last four outings for Cornell.
Yale ended up pulling out a 71-70 win over the Big Red in the first meeting of the season in New Haven last month, which means the all-time series stands at 107-102 in favor of Cornell.
Greg Mangano registered a double-double with 20 points and a game-high 16 rebounds as the Yale Bulldogs pulled out the six-point win over the Columbia Lions in double overtime in Ivy League action at Levien Gym on Friday night. Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs were Reggie Willhite with a game-high 21 points, followed by Austin Morgan with 19, Jeremiah Kreisberg 15 points and Porter Braswell with 10 and seven boards. Mangano is the leading scorer for the Bulldogs with his 16.3 ppg and is also tops on the glass with 10.2 rpg. Better still, Mangano is a huge presence in the paint at the defensive end of the floor as well with his 84 blocked shots through 27 games. Morgan and Braswell also play significant roles on offense with scoring averages of 12.7 and 11.2 ppg, respectively.
Chris Wroblewski scored a team-best 14 points as the Cornell Big Red took down the Brown Bears with a nine-point decision in Ivy League action at Newman Arena last night. Wroblewski added seven assists and six rebounds for the Big Red, while Drew Ferry chipped in 13 points off the bench and Mark Coury 12 points and six rebounds in a reserve role as well. Cornell trailed by double digits in the second half, but the squad held Brown to just 31.0 percent from the floor and 2-of-13 out on the perimeter in the period. Wroblewski, who is actually shooting better behind the three-point line (.432) than he is the floor overall (.393) at this stage of the season, is still leading the team in scoring with his 14.3 ppg. Better yet, he is also the top man when it comes to handing out assists as well with 143, nearly three times as many as his closest teammate. Ferry checks in with 11.7 ppg even though he has started just 10 games for Cornell this season, a good portion of his production coming from 77-of-197 shooting beyond the arc.
While the Big Red would like to give the hometown fans something to cheer about in this matchup, the truth is Mangano is simply too tough inside for Cornell to handle and that will be enough to get Yale the win.
Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Yale 76, Cornell 68
