Red Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss.Red Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home favorite. Red Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday games.
Side Notes for trend people.
Underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
Road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings.
First off, Miami Ohio is ranked 163 in the Saragin ratings and Ohio is ranked 158 so they are relatively close. The last meeting went into 3 Ot's in Ohio with Miami winning by 5. This is the last game of the regular season for these teams.. and I bet you Ohio is looking for some revenge since that 3 OT loss 92-88. Lets break that game down.
Miami Ohio shot 28-66 (.424) from the field with 11-27 (.407) from the 3 point arc. Ohio shot a little better 28-64 (.438) and 11-23 (.478) from the arc. Miami's Ft shot 76% 25-33 (.758) while Ohio shot 81% at 21-26 (.808). Miami had 23 total fouls and Ohio had 28 total fouls... not to bad in a 3 OT game.
The twist: Miami Ohio's 2 best players Antonio Ballard averaging 12.6 and 6.6 rpg and Julian Mavunga averaging 14.5 ppg with 7.7 rpg. Ballard had 26 last game vs ohio and Mavunga had 15. Thats 41 out of 92 points right there between two people. However, this game Ballard will not be available because he has a broken wrist and is done for the season. So its up to Mavunga and Nick Winbush who averages 9 ppg who had 19 last game.
Lets compare conference offenses.
In conference play, Ohio is averaging 76 ppg (24) in the nation with Miami averaging 71 (98) on the nation. Miami scored and average of 64 ppg in last 4 contests. Ohio has a 1.11 Pts Per Possession which is good for 24th in the nation again while Miami is averaging 1.07 which is good for 65th in the nation. This means that they don't turn the ball over and make each possession count. Ohio shoots 47.4 FG% while Miami is at 44.9%. Ohio gets the stripe by an average of 3 more FT's per game, Ohio at 22 times and Miami at 19. Ohio shoots 75% good for 45th in the country and Miami shoots 74% good for 59th. Both teams are good ft shooting teams. Here is where it gets kind of crazy. Ohio shoots 41% (11th) in the nation from the arc and Miami shoots 36.5%. Ohio averages 32.9 rpg while Miami averages 35.6. Miami holds one more extra offensive rebound 10 to 11. Ohio averages 15.6 assist per game (18) and Miami averages 12 (224). The Assist to Turnover Ratio is Ohio 1.2 (62) in the nation while Miami is at .82 (264). Ohio averages almost 8 steals per game and Miami averages 5. Ohio averages 19 fouls per game and Miami averages 16. It looks like Ohio has the more fluid offense, especially with Ballard not being there for Miami.
Defenses in Conference play
Ohio is giving up 72 ppg and Miami 71. So that's pretty close.. Not to good of defenses. Ohio is allowing opponents to shoot 45%, the same with Miami. Ohio gives up a 37.8% (234)in 3pt fg compared to Miami's 38.6% (308). Both give up the 3 ball. Doesn't help Miami because Ohio shoots 11th best behind the arc. Here is where the defenses separate themselves. Ohio gives up 14 (258) apg and Mia with 14.5 (278). You say well that isn't separating at all. Look at this, Ohio's Assist to Turnover Ratio Defense is 0.92 (135) while Miami is at a HORRIBLE 1.35 (317!) That means there is easy buckets for the opponents offense.
After all the gibberish
My play: Ohio +1 ****
Side play: Over.
