    $1,500 Texas Tech title bet could net $300K

    The Texas Tech Red Raiders are playing in their first Final Four in school history, and one bettor is hoping their magical run continues.


    Back in November 2018, a bettor wagered $1,500 on the Red Raiders to win the national championship at 200-1 odds at the SuperBook at the Westgate Las Vegas. The ticket would win $300,000. ESPN has confirmed with the SuperBook that the ticket is legitimate




    Now, the bettor is looking to potentially hedge his bet and cash out through PropSwap, a secondary marketplace that allows sports bettors to buy and sell their futures tickets. The ticket has been posted with a price of $65,000, which would be the largest cashout in the company's history (since 2015).


    The SuperBook has set up its futures book well and isn't too concerned. "Auburn is our only liability, and a small one at that," SuperBook vice president of risk Jeff Sherman told ESPN.


    Michigan State is a consensus 2.5-point favorite over Texas Tech at U.S. sportsbooks. As of Tuesday night, nearly 60 percent of the money on the spread and 93 percent of the money on the moneyline at William Hill US sportsbooks was on Michigan State.


    Texas Tech would be a 2-point favorite over Auburn if both advanced, and a 3-point underdog against Virginia, per the SuperBook.

    gotta hedge always if you future bet makes the finals

    i took 4 teams to win and TT was one of them, if they make the finals ill be betting the other side to make sure i win something 100% they were +2300 or something along those lines before the tournament start, hedge = guaranteed money or ride out a coin flip?

    No but think I’d be far more likely to get a loan and hedge game to game w say 100k total between both. Still can have a nice cash on 1500 if they lose but still can take home 200k if the team you picked does it, they made it this far, seems silly to sell them now.

    I have them going this far. You don’t know shit if you don’t think they have a shot. They play the best defense in the country, have 2 legit nba players, and handful of good shooters. Oh and what are they +2 vs sparty? I’ve never heard of a 2 point spread being such a sure thing! And after they beat sparty they would be favored against auburn and small dogs again I’m sure vs uva. Far from long shots.

    They also have a excellent coach and his name Chris beard, anyone who knows anything about this sport probably knows who tech coach is.

    Like I said, they have no chance to win it all! The same team wins it every year. UNC, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Villanova, Syracuse, Michigan St!! College basketball blue bloods! Schools that pay their coaches 4+ plus mil a year. Butler, Texas Tech, Valparaiso and those type teams have no shot.

    i meant bad price as in why would anyone buy it. you can get much better odds just betting tech now. the ticket is around +360 for your 65k. sbr odds has the futures for tech at +380 to +450 and it was higher when this was posted. maybe you cant bet 65k at a book but i would think you would get a discount buying this type of ticket not a mark up.

    So basically Michigan State is gonna win it all? There’s a few others mixed in besides the blue bloods. Florida wasn’t a blue blood before they won back to back. They still aren’t one. Maryland in 2002. Syracuse in 2003. We aren’t blue bloods. Virginia in 2019. A solid program that isn’t a blue blood. Similar to Maryland, or NC State with Valvano. You got Marquette in ‘79. It happens throughout the years.
