Fairfield +4 at Canisius

A couple of teams sporting coaches in their first season meet, with Fairfield plus the points the right play at Canisius.

Two first-year head coaches who are doing terrific jobs match up tonight as Canisius hosts Fairfield.

Former Al Skinner assistant Ed Cooley has turned the Stags around with a stingy 'defense first' philosophy that has worked really well. Fairfield was able to hang in some games early and as their offense has improved, they've started winning and are red hot coming into this contest.

So is Canisius, as Tom Parrotta has instilled some discipline on a team that used to have the inmates running the asylum under the prior regime. The Griffs are also on a hot streak and seek revenge for an earlier loss at Fairfield in December. But I don't think it comes easily and my numbers indicate this game will be a tight one, so I'm opting for Fairfield plus the slightly inflated number.
