    KY-Willie Cauley-Stein
Maybe it's been mentioned, but I was just searching for an injury update on Cauley- Stein. Thought I'd share. Doesn't look good, but who knows.

Was a little surprised with line movement from - 1 1/2 to - 2 and now - 2 1/2. Suspected that might be positive news on his status. I like Kentucky, but had this penciled @ - 1/2 area.

Kentucky sophomore big man Willie Cauley-Stein is doubtful for Sunday's Elite Eight matchup against Michigan after suffering an ankle injury in Friday night's win over Louisville.
"He's still in a boot," John Calipari said on Saturday. "He's doubtful. ... I'd be stunned if he played."
Cauley-Stein was averaging 7.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game this season. He suffered an injury to his left ankle early in the first half and did not return to the game.

Just for your information, the Louisville stations are reporting that he is very doubtful. But that could be another coaches smoke screen.

Mich. 1st game looks good in theory. Should be a good one, Michigan can help Robinson alot at the 4 on defense because other than Young, UK dont really have knock down shooters other than the kid off the bench, its UK's depth though that is scary and size. UK coming off a more emotional win might show in 1st half.

Kentucky won't miss him too much imo. Guy is a bafoon and is a brick waiting to happen at the FT line. Poythress and Johnson will step up.

Agreed. Michigan is more of a screen and shoot type team rather than attack the rim off penetration and shoot. I don't think steins absence (assuming he is out) will matter as much as it did last night vs Louisville where they got to the rim at will.

They sure stepped up last night, but Willie will be missed. He disrupts shots and defends the Rim/Lane + his rebounds are big.

I agree that they will miss his shot-blocking and paint presence on defense. Other than that, won't miss him too much.

Believe the key is the Wildcat zone defense. Real tough to penetrate and tough to shoot over. Could have a big impact on Wolves long range shots. It gets real tough to go against teams at this point. Both playing great ball, but damn I was impressed with that Kentucky comeback last night.

Majority of Wildcats were in High School last year @ this time. They got punched in the mouth and were on the ropes, early. They never quit fighting and clawed their way back.

Not a lot of value, since I had this @ - 1/2 , but thinking of paying a litte juice for -2. I see this going to possibly - 2 1/2 by tip. I don't want to say KY is a dark horse, but things seem to be going their way.

You have the perfect coach to beat any zone UK plays, that wouldnt concern me at all, Ive seen Beilien rip apart Cuse's zone time and again, I dont see any reason to play a zone against Michigan, they dont get many pts in the paint. Its UK's depth thats gonna be the biggest problem.
