In retrospect, going by the records...

This was like the old rule about how when a non-ranked team is favored against a ranked team you take the non-ranked team. In this case the team with a losing record was favored over the team with a winning record, could that be a new rule? Of course, it will only come up once in a blue moon in the NCAA tournament but it's worth considering.
