Nothing stops a thread in its tracks more than a losing streak.

However, his overall record is still quite impressive.

One thing I would recommend in the future is NEVER buying points as there aren't really any key numbers in basketball and its rarely worth laying an extra dime to gain a half point with the lone exception possibly being buying the hook to go from +1 1/2 to +2.

Are you being serious? Buying points can be crucial, when .5 of a point can be the difference between winning and loosing especially in tight games there is a clear edge in buying .5 a point and when you loose a few games by .5 a point you'll wish you wern't greedy and took it.

Yeah, Schaap. U r good. I just think you got away from what you do best. Stick to what you intended to do. U have a gift and you found it. Now use ur system like you did before the move over to the NCAA thread.

Karayilan, if you can isolate the games where the 1/2 a point can be the difference between winning and loosing, then by all means buy the hook.

However, since you can't, buying the hook is a negative expectation event unless you know of a local who will let you buy off of 3 in football for 10 cents.

Any legitimate sports handicapper will confirm what I am saying is true.

Buying a full point, 1 1/2 and 2 points is simply insane.

Schappy, don't be cranky just because you had a bad couple of days. Even the best handicappers don't win every day.

We will turn this thing around. In a bad streak right now but it will change and hopefully it will start tonight. Im working hard to make sure we get back on the winning tracj fellas.

What's your take on Citadel -6? Coming off a loss and line movement in thir favor...

Public is HEAVY on The Citadel. 88% of wagers on The Citadel and .5 line movement in their favor. Line opened at -5.5, and actually -5 on one book and now is -6. I hate laying that much chalk on the road in College Basketball. The Citadel only beat Southern by 9 @ home in January. Southern is a whopping 1-10 in their last 11 games and 1-4 last 5 home games losing by a average of 9 points per. The Citadel are 11-1 last 12 games while going 5-0 last 5 on road. One of those road games was beating Davidson by 18 points recently. If they play like they have the last 11 games they win easily. If they dont the -6 might be tight.

Not sure if there is a edge in this one but if i had to pick i would go with the public with a better Citadel team.

This is why Citadel is a better play than Georgia Southern...

Books haven't taken into account the Georgia Southern suspensions of Julian Allen, Trumaine Pearson, and Antoine Johnson--these individuals combined for 28 points, 4 steals, 4 blocks, and 17 rebounds the last time these two teams met (Citadel won 84-75). Also, Georgia Southern's leading man Willie Powers put up 14 points, 6 assists, and 3 rebounds in the last meeting--but he has been unable to play since January 14th with an injury to his leg.

Also, Citadel would truly love this win coming off their recent loss to Wofford, especially since it means if they manage to win here, they tie Charleston for 2nd in the Southern Conference. Look for Demetrius Nelson, Cameron Wells, Zach Urbanus, and the emerging John Brown to have big games tonight.

I can't believe the line is this high. Depaul stays well within this number tonight. Another one of those WTF is up line. Last time they were 25 pt dogs versus Pitt and covered.

West Virginia is coming off of three straight road games, and they have a home game against Louisville looming on Saturday. The spread is a bit high, no doubt. The spread is too high for me to back WVU in this game, especially with Louisville coming up on Saturday.

I just don't see WVA getting motivated for this cupcake tonight. I think they build a lead and Depaul gets the cover in the end. Hard for WVA to get excited for this game with Louisville on deck.
