Nothing stops a thread in its tracks more than a losing streak.

However, his overall record is still quite impressive.

One thing I would recommend in the future is NEVER buying points as there aren't really any key numbers in basketball and its rarely worth laying an extra dime to gain a half point with the lone exception possibly being buying the hook to go from +1 1/2 to +2.

Never buy points??? I guess you have never lost a game by a half point. Here is a tip. Join a low juice sports book and and you can usually get an extra .5 and still be at around -115.

Also, I am not saying always buy .5. You have to handicap the game and if you feel the .5 is a smart buy then get it.

IceMan, buying the half point is NEVER a smart thing to do regardless of how you feel about the game.

An exception would be if a local will let you buy the hook off of 3 for 10 cents in football but good luck at finding that.

Buying a hook off of 7 in football for 10 cents is about a break-even proposition so there is nothing wrong with that either.

Buying the hook in ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCE assuming you have to pay 10 cents for it is a bad bet.

I do most of my wagering at Matchbook and you can normally buy an extra 1/2 point with their alternate lines for about 8 cents which isn't too bad.

However, since you can't, buying the hook is a negative expectation event unless you know of a local who will let you buy off of 3 in football for 10 cents.

In tight games .5 point can be everything between losing and winning, the cost of buying .5 a point is very small, its better to have that extra insurance than not, thats all I'm saying.
