I still can't get over this quote from lunchbawks. Every time I watch a Raptors game I remember that people like lunchbawks are betting on NBA basketball with 0 knowledge of the game. We should all be bookies.

      10. Landry Fields: three years, $18.73 million
Don't forget, Toronto offered Fields too much money as a strategic ploy. (Not a typo.) They were hoping the Knicks would knock themselves out of the Steve Nash sweepstakes to match the offer, leaving Toronto as Nash's only suitor. Instead, Nash went to the Lakers and New York gleefully stuck Toronto with Fields, making him the Kip Addotta of 2012 free agency (see this column for an explanation). What's the right word for that chain of events? I'm going with "hilarious!" unless you can top it.

Meanwhile, Fields is turning into the Dave Stapleton of basketball — instead of getting better every year like every other young player, he's somehow getting worse.
      2011: 9.7 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 50% FG, 39% 3FG, 77% FT, 13.5 PER.
      2012: 8.8 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 46% FG, 26% 3FG, 56% FT, 12.1 PER.
      2013: 4.7 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 45% FG, 8% 3FG, 70% FT, 10.2 PER.

Wow, didn't even know there was a thread about this.

I'll tell you what, after the Rudy Gay trade I thought they had a chance because they upgraded the level of talent in a very weak SF position while giving up relatively little. They went on that winning streak for a little and then I realized something...Casey is an absolute moron when it comes to coaching and is the main reason many Raptors games have slipped from them this year.

The man chooses to play Aaron Gray over a rookie in Valancuinas who has twice the heart/hustle and is ten times better skill wise for an immobile big man. Chooses Alan Anderson (who can shoot lights out on a good night, but has highly questionable shots for the majority of the game) over giving playing time to Terrence Ross and letting him develop.

If you've watched Raptors games slightly before the all star break and on ward, you'll notice they have the ability to go up by 10 or 15 points at which point coach Casey will ride his bench until this lead evaporates completely. He has no idea when to call a timeout nor when to bring his starting unit back in and it has cost the Raptors games this year.
