Portland is reeling and they just lost their best player. I expect the rest of the team to rally and win at Golden State tonight. Might not even bother with the spread and only take the ML at +190.

#2Portland on the road, on 2nd night of b2b2b, have clippers on deck and without their start player!
You got serious balls to be backing them!Comment -

#6Completely different scenario when it happens during the game. They come into tonight knowing they won't have their best player and the rest of the team will adjust accordingly and bring their play up a notch.Comment -

#7dam t wizzle I was hoping book still has GS at -3 when i got there. but you making me 2nd guess it.. YOu do have a point though.. Everyone and their moms is going crazy on GS since LA has been ruled out. and teams usually rally the win the next game.Comment -

#10Portland isn't very good. They suck balls on the road, and that's with Aldridge. They will be lost without him just like they were last night.Comment -

#11hmm i don't like making plays with the reasoning "this team sucked last night so they are due for a good game tonight without their best player on the road"
but it's the NBA you could be rightComment -

#12did you see Portland play defense last night? They just let dudes dribble past them for easy layups and they didn't even go for rebounds. you got major balls if you take Portland MLComment -

#13Can't remember the last time Portland beat Golden St down there. Even with a healthy team usually get blown out or lose by a couple down there. Just can't back them tonight without Aldridge good luck all on this game.Comment -

#14I don't believe in this rule.
They looked shell shocked last night. Got RUN against a miserable Wizards team. So goes Aldridge, so goes the Blazers, so goes a loss tonight.Comment -

#15I get it -- there is something to the theory that everyone else will step it up, and often it works that way. But not always. For instance, last year Dirk got hurt at OKC. Next night Mavs are laying 10.5 at home vs. Toronto and lose straight up 84-76.
I watched last night's game, and I agree with Big Bear and Certain Valor. Portland already struggles on the road, and they'll be at home tomorrow versus the Clippers, so they're really in a tough spot.Comment -

#16I like your theory, but these things are going agaisnt Portland big time tonight:
1. I've said this before, but the last team you want to face coming off a game the day before is GS. They will run until you can't feel your legs.
2. GS is rested, and they look to be making a nice little run. As horrible of a coach Marc Jackson is, I think he is slowly getting things together.
3. Portland hasn't had any time to adjust their schemes without Aldridge. I would like POR a lot more if they had a day or two off to practice without Aldridge.
However, Portland should dominate the glass tonight. Offensive rebounds will likely keep them in this game.
Good luck.Comment -

At the same time, Portland will struggle in the halfcourt without Aldridge. Most of their halfcourt sets involved LMA. No more pick and roll, no more post up, etc.Comment -

#21Golden State isn't the running team they used to be. Jackson is trying to enforce defense on his guys and naturally the fast-paced offense has suffered a bit.Comment -

#22T-wizz looking at the warriors last few games do you think Jackson has allowed them a bit of freedom to play at a faster tempo?
Either way this is a big test for Portland and will provide a bit of a glimpse into what this team is actually made of.Comment -
