#2393Been 20 offensive rebounds in this game already which is the primary culprit for all the 1H scoring, and there is still a few minutes left in the 2Q. A lot of games usually don't even end up with that many over a full game. This one is not in bad shape considering...Probably will need a couple 40 point quarters in the 2nd half though.Comment -

#2407NBA 2011-2012 Regular Season 1/22/2012 Play #1 Pacers/Lakers under (181) 1.5x (Locked) Natural market fluctuation will probably see this one go up and down a bit from this 181 range, however, that's the number I was waiting for so that's the number I will play. I am leaving for the day pretty soon and won't have time to watch the lines for a better number. I've already seen some people think this is a number that "should easily go over." However, I think the books are setting this number so low for a reason. This matchup in style of play was made for the under. With both teams coming off a day of rest, defense and half-court offense should be paramount. If you look at the advanced numbers, this shapes up perfectly for the under as both teams are in the bottom 1/3 of the league in OEFF and EFG%, but are in the top 6 of those same defensive categories with the Pacers and Lakers ranking 4th and 6th in OEFF and 3rd and 4th in EFG%. Plus, both teams are equally adept at shutting down the inside game ranking 5th and 6th in defending the paint. Both teams are in the bottom 10 of Offensive Three Point Rate, so I don't expect them to be knocking down a ton of shots from outside. While the Lakers struggle with the pick and roll, I am not enthralled with Indy's pick and roll game. With the Pacers ranked 19th in PACE with the Laker's 22nd ranking in that same category, I expect both teams to settle into a nice, slow pace that is predicted on the half-court game on both ends of the court. The refs are Mauer, Roe and Boland. Mauer is rather dependable under ref in the past, if not this season, and the other guys have a slight under lean throughout their career. I suppose the Lakers could break out of their scoring slump being at home and that is my one fear for this game. However, these teams' play great individual and team defense and I think the slow pace will be key. This game opened up at 178 at Pinny, which was the lowest opening total either team has seen all year according to my records. This is a classic game where the majority of bets see these two team names and think offense, instead of looking at the style of play they are currently employing. Based on the quantitative factors, I don't see anything that screams to the over in this matchup and both teams' recent offensive play has been lacking. Upon the 178 opening, Pinny took immediate under money driving the price to -118, before the Sunday morning crowd started hitting the over. The first wave saw the total go up to 180.5, before it took a big hit on the under driving it all the way back down to 179 and then all the way back up somewhat gradually. When Pinny first went to 180.5, one of my locals posted 181 and I jumped on it. Although I risk that we might see 181.5 or 182 later today or tonight, 181 was the number I pinpointed on this play and I won't be able to monitor the lines today. I will trust my instincts that we won't see it go up much more beyond that 181 point and think we see this one close at 179 or lower. I have this game set at 177 giving us over 3 points of value in this play at the current number. Based on the foregoing, I am rolling with the under for 1.5x. Good luck.Last edited by YOUSENKO; 01-23-12, 12:42 AM.Comment -

#2408I am starting to think I am your NBA mush bro. It's incredible! You are up in the NBA for the season and yet somehow I am down, BIG. I tail you whenever I can, just seems when I am able to hop on board it's the losing plays. Gotta get my NBA mojo going, thank god for College Hoops and NFL right now or the bankroll would be hurting.
Anywho, keep up the grind my man, gonna try and take my curse off ya.

#2409Nice and sweet analysis with stats. However it dosen't include LAL delibrately not playing D in the paint. If real ball is being played the result will be under and LAL cover 5.5 sweetly, hence everybody will cash in -5.5. Not the case and finished 194, Indiana probably has 15 points in the paint it shouldn't have scored. The main reason it went over is not to let LAL cover. O/U sometimes a lottery and bitch...Comment -

#2414NBA 2011-2012 Regular Season 1/22/2012 Recap
0 - 1 = -2.2x
NBA 2011-2012 Season
44 - 36 = +6.75x
Good play, bad result. We got the best possible number on the under and it closed at 179.5, just as we thought. Lakers just did not defend the boards like usual. All we can do us put us in the best position to cash by staying ahead of the market and we have to trust the players to play as expected. Last night they didn't and we move on. Good luck Monday.Last edited by Love The Action; 01-23-12, 07:53 AM.Comment -

You know what I say though....dont tail, just use my threads as a reference.
Either way, i'm sure you will get it straightened out.
Personally, i'm satisfied with my start so far. 55% and almost +7x about 1/5th through the regular season puts me right on pace for my seasonal goals. We'll get thereComment
