I don't think these teams are 6-8 points apart on a neutral court as priced, but I can see oddsmakers overadjusting this price based on Utah's loss in LA last night, a "rested" Magic team that's played well on the road, and a flood of public action on Orlando for a nationally televised game. I believe the Magic beat Utah both times last year. Also, Memhet Okur was held to a very low shooting percentage. However, the Magic has never won 9 straight on the road. However, the Magic may seek the opportunity to win tonight to maintain the top-spot in the east! A loss tonight, with a celtics win would shift the power standings in the east tonight!

I was very tempted to go with Orlando on this one. Utah playing a back to back, Orlando with a day or rest, but Im not gonna touch this one, Utah is a hard place to win at. I think we overcomplicate things at times, most games more than not are just a matter of shots falling or not. Ive seen games where Dwight Howard gets in early foul trouble and sits most of the first half. Against a slashing team where guys are cutting to the basket and driving, he's prone to pick up more fouls, especially on the road. Utah has a couple players who get to the basket, anyway, I was tempted on this one and the moneyline, but Im gonna stay away from this one. I might regret it but oh well.Comment -

The Jazz have one of the strongest home courts in the NBA and they are usually an automatic play as home underdogs. That said, the rest factor keeps me off this game tonight, but there is no way I would lay points in Utah under any circumstance.
In short, this game is Jazz or pass, and I opted for the latter.Comment -

In fact, Jazz have been FAVORED over the Lakers at home many times in recent years, and they upset Celtics the ONLY time they were a home dog all of last year. They have only been a home dog once this season and they beat the Spurs.
Point is, the Jazz are rarely dogs at home (tonight is third time in little over a year) because their HCA is so great, and I am starting to feel like an idiot for passing on them tonight.

They have been favored but have they actually won against the Lakers. As I recall there were many hard fought battles, but Lakers came out on top more times than not. I thought about that too. Also Orlando will no doubt shoot alot of three's, if they arnt falling like normally that will give Utah more chances on the other end. Utah runs well and shoots ok themselve and IMO is better in a halfcourt set.Comment -
