Everyone load up on Cleveland. 4.5 pts is a gift. Take this line to the bank. I'll be at this game and let me tell you the Q is not the place you wanna start your season at. Enjoy this blowout by Cleveland.

Pretty hard to beat the Cavs at home. This will be a close game, but I'm on the Cavs also.

Cavs are not better than they were last year. No way they lose only 2 games at home this year.

Playing at the Q doesn't sound that intimidating. Imagine Celtics players and their history. That Q place is really scary man..

The Cavs are definitely better this year than last year...a lot better. That being said, I'd still be weary of taking them in game one against the Celtics. The new guys need a few real games to mesh first.

How are they better, because of Shaq, Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon? Please.
And Delonte West is a mess, don't think his situation doesn't impact their team.
The Celtics have KG back AND added Sheed. The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking about taking the Celtics ML tomorrow night.

To say they haven't improved is absurd. They lost Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, Wally Sczerbiak and Joe Smith, essentially zero production, and gained Anthony Parker, Jamario Moon, Shaq, and Leon Powe (for the second half of the season). Not to mention JJ Hickson has improved tremendously over the summer. Also, Delonte is going through problems now because he struggles in the offseason when his schedule lacks the structure of the regular season. He will be fine once he's on the court.
But again, I'm still not taking the Cavs in the first game. I wouldn't take the Celtics either, as the Cavs can explode at home and have quite a good record against Boston at home.

I'm all over the Cav's here. The Cav's are much better than last year getting rid of all the stiffs and Rasheed is out of place on this Boston team. We really don't know if KG is 100% and the home team has won like the last 16 games in this series. Delonte's issue was with his crazy ass wife (well actually he's crazy) but she filed a restraining order just because she's filing for the divorce. He didn't do a Jim Brown on her.
Cav's are a great play here...

KG can't be 100% just yet. It'll take some time for Rasheed to become a "full" part of the team. I think the C's won't take this game seriously. They'll just succumb easily and come home and win their first home game against Charlotte handily.

Those of you all over the Cavs please take note that Boston destroyed the cavs at home in their pre-season game last week 96-82. Lebron played 30 minutes. I know Pre-season isn't something to take very seriously but it surely does not give Cavs fans any great confidence.
I am hoping I can get the Celtics @ + 6 or better, right before tip off.

Preseason means absolutely nothing and neither does Lebron's minutes in the game. If you watched the game closely you would see that Lebron wasn't playing with normal lineups. Also, the Cavs have a huge edge at the Q because of the energy, and that doesn't really exist in the final preseason game (maybe it's there somewhat in the first preseason game).
Regardless, as I've said the whole time...STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME. There are better games tomorrow night and there are much better games as the week goes on.
If for some reason you insist on betting on this game (since it will be the best game to watch) I would suggest looking at the first quarter or first half line for the Cavs, but I haven't seen those lines yet at 5Dimes.
BOL to all...even you, Roag, if you go against my Cavs!

Pierce will be guarding him most of the night, and he usually does a very good job on him. The Celtics matchup very well with the Cavs starters. Rondo is about the only guard quick enough to give Mo trouble at the point, Pierce handles Lebron well, Perkins can bang with Shaq, and Garnett is free to roam and play help D since Varejao won't be shooting. The result of this, however, generally causes Pierce to have subpar games against the Cavs because he uses his energy on the defensive end (minus the final game of the postseason series 2 years ago).
That being said, the Celtics Big 3 are a year older and getting slower each year, so who knows. The wildcard in this game, I feel, will be the bench play. The Cavs were routinely outplayed in bench play last year. However, with Z, Delonte, Jamario, Gibson, and an improved Hickson all coming of the bench this year, they should be better. Obviously the Celtics also made big additions with Wallace and Daniels. I expect Daniels to get some time guarding Lebron as well. Finally, Eddie House can be a wildcard off the bench. His is liable to go for 20 on any given night or have 6 turnovers, you never know with him.

Obviously your numbers are correct. I consider that info of very little use on the opening night though. I am a huge Cavs fan and even I am scared of this game. The Cavs have more new parts to adjust to than the Celtics.

I agree. Washington will be underrated early on and Dallas will be without Howard. Not to mention Kidd, Marion, and Nowitzki are all slightly overrated at this point in their careers.

The Cavs won 107 to 76. Don't even think of using this as a barometer for tomorrow night though as Garnett didn't play at all. Also Gibson caught fire and went 5 of 6 from 3, a rare strong performance from him last year.

LOL where do I start. I think Boston wins this game straight up. The Celtics have too much offensive power. The Cavs have who... Lebron... and... maybe Shaq.... ? The problem last year was the Cavs didn't have too many offensive weapons and they only picked up Parker and Marion Moon. Just compare the Cavs roster to the Celtics...

Don't take this laker guy too seriously, he was all over the Redskins tonight and Miami on Sunday. Us who were on the Saints, and Eagles got conned into betting on a trap game and wasting our money. Great fade material, guy just tells people who to bet on like he's never wrong.

Please don't come into a thread with something useless like this. I respect Lakerboy, I just feel strongly that the Raptors are a bad pick, nothing against him.
