If they are, who can blame them? They seem to have the number one seed wrapped up and the ghost of last season has to be haunting them (i.e. wearing themselves out in the regular season and having nothing left for the Eastern Conference finals).
If you examine the Pistons recent games:
Chicago L 88-106
at Indiana W 100-85 - trailed by double digits, came back to win.
Miami W 94-88 - trailed by double digits, came back to win.
New Jersey W 110-105 - trailed by double digits, came back to win.
at Chicago L 81-83
Denver W (OT) 113-109 - trailed by double digits, came back to win.
When I think of the Pistons right now, one word comes to mind: flippant (pun intended). I think that all this is reflected in them only being -5 against Cleveland. Billups admitted that the Pistons are kind of lallygagging right now (talking about Chicago):
"They came out aggressive and had a lot more energy," he said. "They looked like they wanted it more than us."
They still might beat Cleveland (who's been very inconsistent recently) but if the Pistons don't play their best, I look for Cleveland to win.
Any thoughts on this?
