#3I have money to throw away from the +540 vs the Cavs, I'll throw some on that line. DHOWARD 30 20...EVERY NIGHT, Lakers big men are softer than the Cav bigs. I'll gamble a bit.Comment -

but the shooters are easy to stop with kobe, ariza, odoms length, mobility, athletism and experience. lewis, turk and alston will suffer.

#8I have money on the Lakeshow to win it all from earlier in the playoffs. I made a bunch at +560 on the Magic against the Cavs so I might not even bother hedging my Lakers bet. I still feel the Lakers win it in 6 or 7, but this series should be one of the best Finals since Mavs vs Heat. Each game was awesome at the end watching Wade down the stretch.Comment -

#9I'm in a dilemma, the Magic are my team (should be going to atleast 1 of the finals games), and they have paid me well throughout the playoffs. My mind tells me Lakers. Although one should never bet emotion, I'll make a smaller play than normal on the Magic. Good Luck to all nonetheless.
BTW: Am I the only one giving credit to Stan Van Gundy, do you all still hate the man?Comment -

#11You are right it isn't that bad of a price at +225 either. I might as well do it since I got a good price during the Houston series as people where starting to doubt the chances of the Lakers.Comment -

#23Bynum or Gasol can't guard Howard one on one meaning they will have to double him or risk getting killed at the offensive rebounds. Birdman had a field day killing Bynum and Gasol at the boards and Howard will have career days.
Now here is where the nightmare begins. With Howard double-teamed Lewis and Turkoglu both at 6-11 will be guarded by Ariza and Kobe and Alston by Fisher. All three can shoot the three uncontested being guarded by 4-5 inches shorter guys and then you have Pietrus coming from the bench when Odom (a lazy defender) and Farmar or Vujacic (even worse defenders) to shoot threes. Even without Howard double teamed Gasol has to guard either Turkoglu or Lewis from the three point line which leaves Howard alone molesting Bynum on the boards and dunks. Remember Ilgauskas, Varejao and Wallace couldn't contain Howard and the first two fouled out in every game. If Bunym or Gasol foul out there is noone on the bench to replace them.Comment -

#29I like Orlando to win the series. I say Orlando in 6...maybe shorter... But I just think Orlando is stacked with offensive firepower. Orlando's bench is too good compared to the Lakers. I just don't see the Lakers keeping up with Orlando. But one key thing for Orlando is for Superman to stay out of foul trouble. And if Orlando is driving the ball to basket they will be unstoppable.Bet To WinComment -

#31My sportsbook has Game 1 Orlando +12½-265. But whenever the spread is that high is usual indicates that the game might be a blowout. But that was about the same spread for Orlando vs. Cleveland game 1. So this tells me the bookies don't know how it's going to play out. I'm pretty sure Orlando can keep it under 13 lol so I might take that.Bet To WinComment -

#32he made a good pt? he said "kobe did not make it this far to lose". how is that a good pt? thats a weak pt actually. kobe made it "this far" in 04 and 08 and lost in the finals BOTH times. the lakers have lost 8 of their last 11 gms in the finals and kobe was there and healthy and playing in all 11 gms. if someone says "the matchups across the floor favor the lakers for reasons x, y, and z", then i will read and give respect either way for an opinion. but to say "kobe did not make it this far to lose" is another way of saying "i do not know anything about NBA basketball so i cannot talk about the matchups".Comment -

give it a break the smart money is on la in this series they wont lose to orlando. the lakers have a better coach, a better superstar, home court advantage and according to stats they have the best 3point shooter in the playoffs in Ariza. People like you are blinded with rage but if and its a big if you watched the denver series it was clear that Ariza got the better of Anthony after the first two games. The lakers dont have pylons like Mo(guarantee) Williams and West who couldnt defend a pylon. Mike Brown was clueless and never made ONE adjustment in the whole series. Lets see how orlando will react when the lakers bring 3 big men against Howard and not to mention the fact that Kobe and Ariza are speedy and will give ORlando's guards all types of matchup probelms. Do you think Howard will be defending Gasol or vice versa it wont matter cause Gasol will be a decoy. just face it your hurting cause your boy lebron got his just dessert and then the pus$y ran away after the game- MVP- most valuable pu$$yComment -

#34Lets just do a quick player by player ASSUMING Jameer Nelson plays like some reports are saying
PG- Orlando with Alston, Nelson, and Johnson have small advantage over Fisher, Brown, Farmar - This is assuming Nelson plays, if not its probably a wash because Alston is playing as good as he possibly can and Fisher has struggled.
SG- Lee, Pietrus, and Reddick are overmatched by Kobe, Vujacic (weak debth at the 2- Pietrus will have an easier time guarding Kobe than Lebron- again Pietrus is the XFACTOR the entire series.
SF- Hedo versus Ariza (maybe you can put Odom here as well)- Magic have an advantage here, because I'm assuming Odom will play the 4.
PF- Lewis, Battie versus Gasol (possibly Odom)- Lakers have an advantage with the versatility of Odom and Gasol's interior scoring, DHoward might have to guard Gasol and put R. Lewis on Bynum , which could hurt the Magic on the offensive boards. However, if Gasol matches up with Lewis on defense, Magic will have a field day, this isnt Kenyon Martin.
C- D. Howard , Gortat clear cut advantage over Bynum - again Odom playing the 4 and moving Gasol to 5 will probably be the Lakers lineup. Anyway you look at it, Magic have an advantage here.
Intangibles and Coaching- Obviously with the Lakers. I think the talent is a wash (Magic have 4 all-stars), it'll come down to VanGundy and how Howard grows during the series. The refs can be a large factor, they must let Orlando play- esp like they did in game 6. I just convinced myself to pick Orlando, esp if Nelson can contribute ANY.Comment -

#35I feel pretty positive that the Lakers win a tough series here in 6 or 7 games. The Magic posed the most problems for them and could very well pull of the upset. Pavy hate the lakers so ignore the amount of post he has as he was all over Denver and Cleveland in the Conference Finals and we know how those games turned out. I don't think anybody is wrong for taking Orlando at that price I hedged my Lakers bet to win it all with the Magic as I think it could happen. People saying either team is going to win without a doubt does not know a thing about basketball as both teams have the talent level to get it done. If the Lakers play like they did in Game 6 they will be tough to beat, but the same can be said of the Magic and the way they played Game 6.Comment
