They will. The Lakers took Denver's best punch in Game 1. Now the Nuggets are a little banged up. K-Mart's got a broken finger and J.R. Smith has a gimpy ankle. Plus Carmelo will not score 39 again, not with Kobe guarding him.
The Lakers and in particular Kobe got a little extra motivation when Jerry West said that Lebron James is better than Kobe.
#24 took that kind of personal and I expect he'll beat Denver like a drum the rest of the series.

Once Kobe goes to guard Melo, that'll just make billups job easier which makes the whole team better. and I do believe Jerry West said James is better than Kobe prior to Game 1, so if kobe was to be motivated by that statement then 40 pts would have been his motivation...They will.
