I wrestled with the total three pointers prop all day and there is just something about it that I don't like today. I still think it has a great shot to hit, but last time they play multiple OTs in this series, the game after needed OT to hit the over on that prop.
For me, it's Rajon Rondo. The stat line speaks volumes. It's Points, Rebounds, Assists listed below.
Game 1: 29-9-7
Game 2: 19-12-16
Game 3: 20-11-6
Game 4: 25-11-11
Game 5: 28-8-11
Game 6: 8-9-19
In all instances, he surpassed the number posted for Game 7. The more impressive thing for me is that he only needed overtime in Game 6 to get past the number. Otherwise, he was gold in regulation. I also like that he is coming off his worst game of the series, shooting a woeful 4 of 17 in Game 6 as well as letting Derrick Rose be the hero. I think that ignites Rondo to get back to being the catalyst for this team. I can't fathom Ray Allen being allowed to get off like he did in Game 6. The Bulls will probably throw those double teams his way again and that should lead to more opportunity for other guys and could help boost Rondo's assist numbers if he gets it to the open guy out of Allen's hands.
Rondo has put up at least 15 shots in each game and is shooting 47% from the floor for the series. Two of his best games in the series have come in Boston with 29 points in Game 1 and 28 in Game 5. Game 2 at home wasn't too shabby either with a triple-double. Prior to Game 6, he had gone for at least 19 in each game. He has grabbed at least 8 boards in all games & has gone double digures in assists in 4 of the 6 games. If Rondo stays out of foul trouble and he can get those transition buckets more readily, I like this one to get done. Feel as though he should get close to his 20 points and so long as his teammates are making shots, the assists should take care of themselves in the range of 8 or more. That means if he gets that minimum of 8 rebounds, we're in the clear.
This total went from 34.5 to 34, now back to 34.5 at -105 at my book. I'm on it.
