It seems like if you throw the first punch you can sort of hang with them and possibly beat them but if they get to you early and go up by 10-12 you have no shot.

Every playoff game they lost last year I can think of they were down basically all game or just had occasional short leads. Every game this season is pretty much the same thing. I might be missing one but I'm pretty sure it must go back to last year's regular season.

Had the Bulls as well last night.
Saw a score in the third where the Bulls started 17-10.
GS closed on something like a 14-2 run.

I am not quite sure why the better they get, the less I like them.
I can`t see anybody but the Spurs even giving them a sweat.

I will be betting 4-0 and 4-1 on GS vs. Cavs in finals if the price is reasonable.

The Warriors go on a rampage and makes their opponents play catchup and chucking up bad 3's in order to get back in the game, their opponents usually miss and the warriors keep on bangin shots which creates a bigger lead and the game is usually over at that point. It's a strategy we haven't seen yet in the NBA and not discussed about even in the media. Teams know they can't compete if they take their sweet time to set up a play and take 2 pt shots only. Their opponents seem to play with emotions and then switch to 1v1 basketball which creates bad shots. Only way to beat the warriors is like you said, control the game like the Bucks did twice to them by slowing down the pace but a the same time be able to trade buckets and keep the lead.

I find their games boring as they're rarely close so I basically never watch them (same goes for the Spurs), but I wouldn't say I particularly dislike them. I just don't see the excitement in watching a blowout some people seem to have. Even when my team is up 20 I watch another game, there's literally nothing enjoyable about watching a blowout.

I say neither of those teams makes the finals but we'll see in due time. Both are favourites for sure.

I hope you are right. I wouldn`t mind some new blood in the finals, but wonder what the price would be both Cavs and GSW don`t make it?

Not sure if any EC team would give a WC champ a match besides the Cavs.

I personally like watching Warriors' blowouts because I get to check out their bench depth, which has been one of their biggest weaknesses in years past. There's still battles for minutes going on with people like Speights, Ian Clark, Brandon Rush, and others that keep it interesting and somewhat meaningful. Also I like seeing the coaching adjustments that are made when different people are on the floor; I believe a good coach can compete with almost any group, which we've seen when Popovich sits his starters and still beats top teams.

Definitely possible that the Warriors fall to the Spurs in the WCF, but not sure who else can really beat them barring some kind of injury. Definitely looking forward to Monday's matchup, although I wouldn't be too surprised to see Pop rest a starter or 2 'cause he loves his mind games.

Also regarding blowouts, I think that when your sights are set on a championship those bench minutes become more important. They're not just competing for minutes in blowout wins, they're competing for trust from the coach to play meaningful minutes in important games (like Iguodala in last year's finals).

Yeah I think we're getting that Spurs/Warriors matchup regardless of who finishes 1/2 and who finishes 3/4. Both of these teams shoud be able to overcome the Thunder and Clippers who are the same flawed theams they have been for 4 years. I'd like the Spurs in the WCF though, I mean either way it should be 3 pretty exciting series in the West starting the 2nd round.

I respect your point of view, and after all we don't all have to like the same thing, but I honestly don't really care much to watch Dallas' depth guys going up against other depth guys. Anyway the way Carlisle coaches you generally get to see all 15 guys even if you only watch the meaningful part of games.

Yeah I honestly don't think there's any competition for the Spurs or Warriors other than each other. I've been wanting another playoff matchup with them since 2013, that was an awesome series which made me a Spurs fan. Pop vs. Kerr would be cool, it'd be like father vs. son.

And no I agree, most teams I'm changing the channel as soon as it's garbage time, I'm just saying that I think in Warriors' (or Spurs') garbage time you're seeing some real strategy and 'scouting' who can potentially be used in the playoffs, while lottery teams in garbage time seem to just clear out the bench and let them do their thing. Basically I'm more interested in watching Iguodala or Boris Diaw run the 2nd unit than watching Javale McGee dunk.

Also to answer your original question, I think it goes back to them blowing a first half lead against the Pelicans late last season when the Pelicans were fighting for the 8th playoff spot.
