SAN ANTONIO ML
The San Antonio Spurs dropped the opener of this Western Conference Quarterfinals series against the Los Angeles Clippers but have won two straight since. They absolutely destroyed the Clippers on home-floor Friday, winning 100-73 after a playoff career-best 32 points from Kawhi Leonard. They held the Clippers shooting 34.1% from the field as Chris Paul was just 3-for-11 with seven points while completing 52.6% themselves, and I don't see the Clippers coming back from this.
Keep in mind that the Clippers are only 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after scoring less than 75 points in their previous game and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 playing on 1 days rest. The Spurs meanwhile are now a mighty 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games and are not likely to sit back after Friday's big performance as they're 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games fo llowing a SU win of more than 10 points.
Is there a risk the Spurs will come out here and underestimate the Clippers after Friday's demolition? Not if you ask the Spurs coach Gregg Popovich: "We're not that good, and they're not what you saw (Friday) without a doubt. We just had one heck of a night, and that's all it is is one night. You throw it out and start all over again, and they'll do the same thing." Still, that win must have been big for the Spurs players confidence and rather devastating for the Clippers dito.
Unlike the Clippers they're also strong playing on 1 days rest going 7-2 ATS over their last nine such situations, and this looks like a very manageable spread for the Spurs to cover.
