#4Iverson's been a cancer for a while now.
His selfish attitude killed Denver the last few seasons. Without him, they probably would've gotten out of the first round at least once.
I laughed at Denver's idiocy when they traded for him like I laughed at the Knicks trading for Marbury.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#5The Pistons announced on Friday that Allen Iverson will miss the remainder of the season.
All things considered, this doesn't come as much of a shock. Whether or not Iverson's back really is still a significant issue, he's clearly not happy coming off the bench, and the Pistons clearly weren't going to return him to the starting five. A.I. will be a free agent at the end of the season, and now faces the challenge of resurrecting his career at age 33 after the worst of his 13 years in the NBA.
He's one of the toughest competitors in the game but as mentioned before, he's a selfish player. I doubt he wants to take a pay cut next year (even though he has to) but could the Celtics lure him with the chance to play for a ring? How would a backcourt bench of Marbury and Iverson look like?Comment -

#9NO... He said that he'd rather retire than come off the bench. What a selfish stupid statement. He needs to go to some lower tiered team so that he could at least draw some fans. OKC, Clippers, Kings, etc... I don't think a good or average team would take him although I think if he came into the right situation he could produce.Comment -

#11Pistons are way better now. Team ball is there mantra and Iverson was ruining that. Hes good with a team built around him, But who wants that anymore??Comment -

It's true though, the guy's main purpose now in the eye's of a team owner is probably to sell merchandise/tickets, he obviously isn't brining a team to the finals.

#16He reminds me of Marbury in that he'd sabotage a team if he felt mistreated at all.
AI is a little better because at least he's won some, but he's a proven selfish saboteur like Marbury. They have the maturity of 12 year olds on the playground, and if you don't do what they want, they sulk and cry and ruin the team.
Marbury could never win no matter what team he was on. AI was able to win in Philly, when everything was catered exactly to him and the team was run 100% around him. He ruined Denver's chances of advancing farther in the playoffs and when he was healthy, he was sabotaging Detroit.
Even if Marbury was catered to, I think he'd be a loser anyway. He's sabotaged every pro team he's been on. Every single one. I doubt Boston will make it to the Finals, and Marbury is only a bench player! Still, he's doing what he can to ruin locker room chemistry.
Either way, they're both extremely selfish and not willing to sacrifice to win.
AI gets thrown around and people say he's a great fighter because he takes hits, so I give him some credit, but that's his playing style.
He's very selfish, despite that.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#17It's not the back that is bothering him. It's people laying the blame on him for the failures of the Pistons. In all fairness, the Pistons are misusing him. He is the type of player that you build a franchise around, and he needs to dominate the ball. You can't put a future Hal of Famer on the ench, especially when he is still ultra productive and very capable of leading the league in scoring still. i just wish that he played for the Warriors because Don Nelson knows how to use talented players and put them in a position to be successful. Michael Curry is not shouldering enough of the blame. he is not a good coach. He just has a veteran squad playing for him. That is the only reason why the Pistons are not playing up to expectationsComment -

#18He doesn't fit in with the Pistons. They're better without him. He came back from his back problems, but then began to stir up trouble about coming off the bench. Then the back problem mysteriously resurfaced to end his season...; just in time for him not to have to return to Philly, on the bench.Comment -

#19The Piston's problems are not Iverson's. Curry don't know his ass from his head. He is a horrible coach that has limited this team. Yet the blame has to go to Dumar's. He's the one calling the shots and brought Iverson in as a scapegoat which is unfair.
Plus, this team is old and outdated, very similar to the Spurs. Rasheed and Tayshaun are mere shells of themselves and so is McDeiss. They have zero low post presence and can't play on ball defense.Comment
