Spurs are returning home where they will play a lot of their next games. They have had a very tough schedule lately, with games against Trailblazers twice, Mavericks twice, Hornets, Cavaliers in their last 8. They won some and lost some, defeats coming against TRailblazers and Mavericks away, and Cavaliers at home. Still, they have been without Ginobilli for some games, and the Spurs certainly need him vs big opponents. Tonight though, the opponent is not that big.
Wizards' season was shattered by injuries, tonight another 4-5 important players being possibly sidelined. Only Jamison will be the available starter, as the others will be reserves in the first lineup. Butler hasn;t recovered from his injury, Stevenson undergoes surgery, Arenas, Haywood, Thomas old injuries. Their starters will be guys like Young, McGuire, Songalia, James....wtf...who are these guys? Jamison alone will not have a chance against Spurs defense.
The Spurs will be linening up Parker, Duncan, Mason, Finley and Booner, a lineup CLEARLY superior to the one Washington has. More over, Gooden, their most recent addition will be available as a reserve tonight, along with good reserves like Hill or Udoko should give Spurs enough consistency to thrash the Wizards tonight.
These teams met not so long ago in similar conditions in Washington, and the Wizards lost 67-98, despite having Butler and Thomas for that game. So what are they going to do now, playing AWAY in SA? Bookies are awefully trusting in them considering the line is just 12.5. Should be 18 or 19 in my opinion. So let's just take it full stakes to prove them wrong.
