He is shooting 52.6% and averaging 20.8ppg since the Kings acquired him and the Kings are 8-9 during that stretch, much better than before. Can someone who has been watching Kings basketball explaine to how Rudy Gay has helped and improved the kings? (And don't just say "17 games is a small sample size", cause it's not.) And the "Rudy Gay is the biggest cancer in the NBA" thing should be over

#6I am (sadly) a Kings fan and definitely think that Rudy has been a solid addition to our lineup. His major problems on the Raptors and Grizzlies is that he was there to be their primary scorer; they would give him the ball and he'd try to create some offense on his own, which led to a lot of poor shots being taken and not a lot of ball movement. On the Kings, we already have 2 good scorers in DMC and Thomas, and all Rudy has to be is a supplemental scorer. DMC draws a lot of attention and is a capable and willing passer, although in the past he hasn't really had anyone reliable to kick the ball out to (especially at the 3). Rudy has been able to become more of a spot up shooter since joining the Kings, and I think he's really excelling at that role.
He is also a high character player who seems to help their on-court chemistry, which is something the Kings have been desperately missing recently. He's having his statistically best season so far because he's able to play more to his strengths and is not being forced to be the go-to guy on a nightly basis, and I think he will continue to improve as he gets more comfortable playing with Thomas and DMC.Comment -

Uhhh, yea...just because you say it isn't a small sample size doesn't make it so. Gay is in a hot streak, that's it. If you think he can continue hitting over 52% of his shots you are delusional.Comment
