#11C'mon buddy give him some credit, the guy is taking a limited skill set and getting the absolute most out of it at the moment. And hey - 16 assists is 16 assists, there were some real nice ones to go along with the freebies...Comment -

#12Steve Blake is a stud on the court..... off the court you could stand next to him in line at Target and not know it. He's physically a pretty small guy at around 6'2" - 185lbs give or take. I live in Portland and have seen him out and about a few times (I think he still lives here in the summer - or did for awhile).
A buddy of mine ran into him at Starbucks when he first came to the Blazers about 6 years ago and it was a funny story. Blake, my buddy and another guy were just standing around making small talk and the conversation came to what they did for work (neither my buddy or the other guy recognized him). He totally downplayed it and said he "worked for The Blazers". It wasn't until they talked a bit more before they got him to admit he was A PLAYER!!!
The guy is just low key and under the radar.... on the court and off. I love his game and miss him as a Blazer. Nash is so old and banged up Blake should end up with the PG role for the majority of the season.
Even when Nash returns IMO he should be in more of a backup role. At this point in Nash's career I think he's be valuable as a backup for 18-20 quality minutes as a PG or even SG.
I love to see Blake getting another chance (after a somewhat prominent role in Portland) to be a main part of a reasonably good team. He is a true pass first PG..... a somewhat lost warrior in today's game.Comment -

#15Ok fine discredit the 16 assists because of a "lack of defense"
What about the 3 previous games which we're all double digit assist performances. Was that because of a "lack of defense" as well?? The guy's playing his azz off right now & like Sando said, he's taking a limited skill set & getting the absolute most out of it. You don't see this??
Top point guard in the league....obviously he's not. Hard working reliable trusted role player....absolutely~Comment -
