Well the last time the Pistons were on the court it was Blowout City, with a bad 20 point loss to the Minnesota T-Wolves. After intensive work on defensive rotation, the vets on the squad are chomping at the bit to get back onto the court and display the type of play that has been defined as DEE-TROIT basketball. I don't want to go too far into a boring explanation as to why i like this play, but for starters, they are playing the defenseless Knicks, who helped to cash our ticket yesterday for the Cleveland team total of 110. Expectmore of the same Wednesday night when the Pistons get ahold of them in round two of fade the Knicks. It wasn't enough that they played late last night against the Cavs, but now they have to play another good team the following night coming off of that type of loss. 11.5 points is not enough.
Okay game two for me. I like the Hawks to blow out the Bucks who have quietly gone on a 7-1-1 ats streak. The Hawks are 0-5 ats, but the Bucks will come to the rescue and save them from having their new fan base turn against them Wednesday. And believe me the natives are restless and want a strong showing. With Andrew Bogut nursing a sore knee and Redd out, the Bucks have gotten enough excuse me covers, but now they are running out of gas in Georgia. The Hawks are 3-0 straight up and ats in their last 3 games at home against the Bucks. I expect more of the same in this contest. With the hawks having lst 5 in a row ats, the linesmaker will give them some slack. I say that the line ends up being around 4.5 according to my scoring model.
On we go to Style's pick o the day. She likes the Raptors to get teh job done against her beloved Bobcats. The Raptors are 3-1 ats in the last 4 games between the two in Canada, and they are also coming off of a rare two game home losing streak, losing tough games to Boston and the shootout with New Jersey. Look for this to be a double digit win. The Bobcats are improving, but not enough to stay close in this one as the new lineup has yet to be tried on the road. With Okafor dwelling as a malcontent on the bench, the Bobcats will have troubles with teams that have strong inside games, and Toronto fits that mold. If Jermaine O'neal misses the game with a sore knee, it will be an even better play as bettors will relax and so will the linemaker, and give the Raptors a ridiculously low line. They usually blow teams out at home. I project the line to be Toronto-6
So here's the Wednesday lineup:
Detroit-11.5
Toronto-6 (projected) (Style's pick)
Hawks -4.5 (projected)
I am still undecided about taking the Detroit team total. I expect that it will be around 110 for Detroit, and 98.5 for New York (which won't happen when the Pistons have worked at defense exclusively and are concentrating solely on the tired Knicks playing the back end of a back to back.)
