Looks like they close exactly at the listed time (at least the ESPN listed time) for props, but 5 minutes after the listed time for regular plays.

Like for the IND and NO games tonight, even though some places have the start time at 7:05 (and that seems to be the real start time), the props close at 7:00.

Anyone know if Bovada is more lenient on the line closing times?

I play at Bovada and they leave them until 5 after. I've made some plays at 7 after (they seem to actually close them at the real tipoff).

Hope you come back soon, it's probably just variance the last couple weeks. Thanks for sharing/tracking here, hoping when I get around to trying to learn some poisson stuff from Justin's book I am able to teach myself the math. Starting to learn some coding too so maybe some day I can have a nice model that makes this stuff easy xD.

One thing I'm curious about if you check back here, don't you think the variance on the size of your plays was a bit large, or was the difference in probability really that much? Did the amount you were betting (I think you said $100 for every 5 cents you thought the line was wrong) come close to what Kelly would dictate?

The variance seems within normal range. What happened was that I decided to double my unit size to $100 per 5 cents off just like you mentioned right when I was close to 10k in profit. And of course (it never fails) the losing streak started right then.

As far as Kelly, I really never used it. I don't do this long term so I don't really mess with Kelly, but I do try to keep my unit at 1% of my bankroll because I make so many plays.
