Sure does seem like an easy Edmonton with Nichols out but Winnipeg might surprise with defense.

This league has a way of favoring those dogs early and that -6 hung out there for quite a while before ticking upward.

The Under seems right too but that line has already moved.

Last year, the Totals NEVER landed in the middle of spread movement. Twice there was a push...at the close of the last regular season game, and the opening spread of the first playoff game.

There were two other games midseason that pushed the Totals but those were 55 point lines that didn't move.

Should be back in 30 mins. Dang this sucks, Winnipeg was out of it despite having a penalty aided TD drive.

That first TD pass was sweet, great connection. Some new players on this team but I bet Edmonton makes a solid run this year.

In fact, the league could be overall more competitive this year. That actually helps for us bettors, I think.

The only worry is about week 6 when QB's start falling.

This league isn't that deep in QB's and it changes someone's course almost every year.

I always hate that. Last year they were dropping like flies.

This really sucks. After the first delay Edmonton looked like trash. I wonder how teams will look after the second delay. Generally the home team comes out better after breaks

Bet will lose. Unreal how the CFL wants to continue this game after 2 hours of delay at midnight.
All Edmonton until the first delay then they come out and lay the egg of a century.

I had Edmonton -4 1st half, what a brutal fukkin beat.

Winnipeg (down by 5) runs back a missed Edmonton field goal attempt 110 yards with no time left in the half.

its the fact that Edmonton had to stay in the visitors room for 2+ hours, then have the game resume at midnight that makes me mad.

Tough loss but oh well, only game 1.

Icon, if you wanna see a wacky ending, watch this.

Line is around Montreal -4...and note that TOR put kicker Prefontaine in end-zone. And two TOR players had to BLOCK Duval's 1st kick from going out of bounds. Look at last soccer-style kick attempt:

Thanks, yeah I've seen that vid many times over the years. Kicking the ball out of your own end zone is definitely a CFL thing.

I'm not discouraged, bad beats are a fact of life for gamblers, lots of random unpredictable shit happens in sports.

When I was watching the game I was hoping that Edmonton would not get into field goal range and just take a knee to end the half because the only play that could jeopardize my almost certain winning bet was a missed field goal returned for a TD.

I could feel it in my gut when the Winnipeg player made it out of his endzone, I knew that rooster_eater was going to return it for a score.

    So true.

Whether first half, second half or whole game, they have a saying...

In the CFL no lead is safe.

The three downs with receivers getting to run towards the line of scrimmage makes for some crazy scoring.

thats the best rules, unlimited WRs motion is much better in my opinion than capping it to one player in the NFL

Sack Collaros was outright trash in the pre-season game. I hope that loser turns it around tonight or else Bridge will be in the game.

Im going to be on the Riders outright tonight. Them being underdogs at home is worth it.

Collaros burned alot of public money (including mine) when he was a Hamilton Tiger-Cat.

Learned the hard way how horrible he could be.

Home road splits do a real good job of evening out in the first few weeks but do swing one way during that time. Let's see if there is swing early on and I may set aside funds to play the bounce. In the CFL, the swing is so fast we can often overcome the vig.

The reason it takes until mideseason to get the Dog/Fav stat to even out is that dragging it out slowly gives the bettors the inevitable regression, but it costs them too much vig to play it as a whole.

Right now we have 1 home team covering the spread, and one road team winning.

I have trading ideas we are going to track in this thread, trading baskets of plays with only some regard for the number, and you will see how this works with the vig.

He was arguably the MVP in 2015 until his ACL injury. Now he’s just a whimp, and is indecisive
