    I was really impressed on how fast Mucho Macho Man closed at the top of the stretch in the Kentucky Derby. Mucho Macho Man was in traffic and in eighth before swinging out 5 wide at the top of the stretch, but came up short by a neck to Nehro who was the runner up.

    I like the tri set i put up earlier. I would consider either AK in the three slots singled or MMM. One of these (if not both) are the only guarantees to hit the board.
    The purpose of this thread was to get the other horses. That is failing.
    I get it, one guy likes AK and hates every other horse. Not sure how this is helping me. Animal Kingdom is a good horse? no shit.

    So far I like AK and DI, most likely will do an exactor box, I really feel these two horses are the only real contenders. With a strong pace, we will see what Dial In can do. And I agree with TonyP, if AK wis this, we will most likely see the next triple crown winner. May be i'll do a Tri with AK and DI on 1st and 2nd with all, and AK and DI with all with AK and DI. We still hv time, we see after the draw 2moro.

    Watched the Florida derby again last night and dialed in's close was amazing. Possibly just as impressive as AK in the derby. Really think these two will have an epic close to the wire. MMM has hit the board in every race except one (holy bull stakes?) and shackleford should set this pace.
    Instead of ALL, find one horse you're sure will hit the board and do three tris like I showed before. Single that horse in each position with three and 7 horses in the other slots. You are looking at about 6 real contenders in here.
    You say you don't like Dialed Ins last two, but his race before the ky derby was as impressive as they come.
    I think AK MMM are basic locks to hit the board and Dialed In has the ability to run them both down.
    The exacta box is worth a shot, I guess, since it's cheap, but I think you're just throwing money away.
    I'll repost my triple tifecta plays for $50 bank roll.

    A. DI's close was into a 46 and change half where he had a garden spot and was the only closer.

    Watch out for Astrology here....he is going to be prime to go! Sets up well in this race as well. The 7th post is about perfect for him. He has 2 tough second places coming into this, and will be prime with his 3rd start off a layoff...plus the price is going to be money. I will have a WPS and a couple exotics on this one.

    Looking at really trying to put together a pick3 or pick4 ticket with this guy.

    I had Animal Kingdom in the Derby and he looks much the best in this field, tons of speed, he'll get 1st run on the plodder Dialed In, who has never had to run down a closer before, didn't do it in the Derby won't do it in the Preakness...

    Ak and MMM on top for me then fill from there. put some speed underneath. proly toss dialed out totaly out or use underneath on a cheap ticket. For those that dont think Ak can close with a fast pace watch the replays of his races.

    Greek had Animal Kingdom priced at +425 so I took it for the max and they lowered to +405 and bet the max again.

    Also they had a horse race matchup between Animial Kingdom and Dialed In and priced it at -115 a side so I took Animal Kingdom again.

    AK beat DI by 9 lengths at churchill and there was no reasonable excuse to make up for that 9 length gap.

    Zou1222, Animal Kingdom is still priced at +385 @ Greek if you're interested.

    Astrology and Dance City, may be good for some
    bottoms of exotic tickets. Animal Kingdom looks
    good for a repeat. I'm not too worried about Mucho
    Macho Man(for the win) as his good races are when he's running
    up close (1st or 2nd) at most calls, which is not likely
    to happen in this field. Best of Luck with your decisions.

    you will not hit a boxed exotic. shit's for amateurs. You may hit exactas like that in non-stakes races, or if you are really lucky.
    My $50 tri set was a $1. which I would be MORE than happy to hit in the Preakness. obviously it wont be any kind of payout like in the derby, as AK was at 20-1, and we will get nothing like that price.
    I definitely think that Animal Kingdom will hit the board. So I will more than likely single him in each slot with 7 horses in one, and the best 3 of those 7 in the other. This will be an $18 ticket, an $18 ticket, and a $14 ticket.
    Here's how Im leaning:
    11 (AK) / 5 (Shack) 9 (MMM) 10 (Dialed In) / 3 (KingCongie), 5-10 (Shack, SwayAway, MI, DanceCity, MMM, DialedIn) = $18, $1tri
    5, 9, 10 / 11 / 3, 5-10 = $18, $1tri
    3, 5-10 / 5, 9, 10 / 11 = $14, $1tri
    If AK hits the board, Im a winner... more than likely. As long as one of the other nobodys hit the board.

    before I found this method, which seems more than perfect for this race, with only 6 true contenders, I was looking at the all tickets.
    AnimalKingdom, MMM / Dialed In, AK, MMM, Shackleford / ALL = $72, $1 tri
    AK, MMM, DI / AK DI MMM Shack / ALL = $108, $1tri.

    Hopefully you can see that the first method of three tickets is the most conservative financially and also gives me the best chance to hit a winner.
    If I bet an exacta ticket, I would most likely go in another direction than AK on top.

    just like Borel in the KY. the guy was on a horse that had no business being in the race in first place, should have been a 99-1 shot, but the public bet the jock name down to like 8-1 at one point.
