Quality Hotel in Philadelphia

Hello: My son and I are planning a drive to Philadelphia to take in a couple of playoff games and are wondering if someone, familiar with the city, can recommend a quality hotel within walking distance to the Wachovia Center?
Appreciate any advice or information.

cant help you with the hotel but i DO know there's an OTB/Sports betting site within walking distance of the sports complex: 700 Packer Ave. iv been known to park there before an event, buy a horse program for $3, throw it on the dashboard and walk the 5 min ='ing 'free paking' + it gave me time to "prepare" w/a fine smoke....

the old holiday inn was recently knocked down but, you can stay anywhere downtown and take the subway to the game, easy 10 minute ride
