WAS vs PIT Over 1.5 (1st) (-141) Pinnacle $282 to win $200
Fireworks always occur when the two best players in hockey face off. The fact that the line is -130 for 6.5 goals says a lot about what to expect in this one. WAS is the top scoring 1st period team and PIT is the 3rd highest. Expect a lot of shots, penalties and odd man rushes in this one. With only 11 more cents juice on the 1st compared to the game I love the first period over. Theodore and Johnson are the starters and neither are legit #1 goalies in my opinion. Ovechkin and Crosby goals in the 1st would be ideal.

I still do like the game over. I usually only bet 1st period overs or totals of 5.5 or less. 6's I will do occasionally but not a big fan of such a high total. It will probably still hit though. GL

honestly the expectations are so high that i am afraid of a letdown. this has happened a couple of times lately where one of the teams just doesnt come to play. there should be a lot of motivation on the part of the capitals, first game against Pens since they knocked Caps out of the playoffs.
the 1st looks like a much better bet then over 6.5 for the whole game. Realistically 7 goals in a game is tough, even with these offenses. If Fleury and Varlamov were playing, there is no way it would hit 7. with the backups it is more likely to be an offensive explosion.

Couldn't agree with you more. With totals of 6.5 I always like the 1st just because you need 2 goals to win. With 6.5 you need to average 2.33 goals a period to win. Yeah let's hope both teams show up to play tonight and not just one. That WAS/DET game frustrated the hell out of me. I never expected WAS to come out so flat at home. Yeah the fact that both #1 goalies are out is the only reason I would consider this over. If both were in I would probably bet the under.

Recently I have been doing a lot of 1st period plays. Yeah the NAS/PHO 1st under was the least confident of my 3 plays today. Both have been scoring a lot lately.

I kinda pussied out on the huge 300$ bet on the Pen/CAps over. I went with $150. my bankroll couldnt take 300$ loss at this point.
