My first year analyzing hockey, what do I need to know?
I've been handicapping the NFL for the past 2 years successfully, now that the season is over, I'd like to turn my talents towards hockey. I know that the hockey season this year is much shorter than usual, I feel this may give me an advantage in beating the closing line. I'm also interested in Live betting if it is offered. The first thing that jumps out at me is to buy/sell .5 on the PL so that I am betting either +1 or -1. This allows me to get favorites at +juice while increasing my chance of pushing. I also get to take home dogs at +1. How much should 1 goal cost in terms of vig?

In a shortened season watch for the back-up goaltenders getting the start and teams playing back to back or 3 in 4 are generally $$ to play against

Matchups are the key. Some teams play others well, some crap. Worst team in the league can beat the best team much easier than in other leagues such as NFL, NBA, and MLB.

Home ice isnt the advantage in hockey like the other sports. Regulation wagers can really cut juice. Might turn a winner into a loser from time to time but in the long run choosing your spots you should come out far better in terms of profits providing you can hit a winning pct
