    Tracking bets- Excel
Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

I'm going to start tracking the bets I place using Excel. This is to keep track of how much money I'm losing and where and to make me better at money management. I wanted to see sample excel sheets that I could base my sheet on.

I'm a recreational gambler who is in the red right now but looking to get back in the green soon.

a wise man once said that keeping track of bets is a waste of time. ever since i read that i just cut that part out. often it takes longer to record the bet than it does to make the wager in the first place

I agree that using a spreadsheet is more trouble than it's worth. Why not just print out the bets you made once a month or so from the book you wager with? Or, just hastily scribble each wager in a notebook. If you saw the Billy Waters 60 minutes piece, you will have noted that is his method.

Your only risk in recording wagers on paper is fire. I believe most fires that occur in homes are primarily smoke events, and very seldom is everything totally engulfed in flames....so you should be OK there. If you are unfortunate and everything is engulfed, your sportsbetting history will probably not be very high on your list of things to worry about since everything you owned was jsut burned to shreds.
