How many bogeys in 2009 US Open?/How many in 2002 Open?
Anyone have any info that would help me figure out a close estimate for the amount of bogeys at this years US Open? It will be held at Bethpage Black State Park in Ny. Golf Digest has rated Bethpage Black as the #6 of America's toughest golf courses if this helps at all. If you just have an estimate that works as well, thanks all!
156 players.....let's say 68 make cut. I'll say that each of these players will make 4 1/2 bogies a round for 4 rounds, or a total of 18 for the week.Originally Posted by ijustwant2bpaid

68 x18 = 1224
That will leave 88 that do not make the cut. let's give them 5 1/2 bogies per round, or 11 for the week.
88 x 11 = 968
1224 + 968 = 2192. There will be 2192 bogies at the Open. That is using numbers off the top of my head, but I'm pretty confident that the actual number will be within 200 of that, or between 2000 - 2400. If you put a little time into it you could probably get a more accurate number.
