can someone tell me how points you need to beat a -110 vig?

say a game is nfl and proper spread is pick-em (i.e. zero)...... how many points better than that spread do i need to have a break-even ROI vs. -110?+2? +1.5? and of course, i mean EV so long-term.

cliff-notes: what's the value of a point in the NFL in a close game?

I don't know but I do know that NFL is one of the toughest markets to beat so I wouldn't waste my time there.

On or off 3, 7 and 10 a half point is worth more than 10 cents for full game. Other spreads a half point is worth 6 cents on average according to my numbers.

thx very much for the responses, especially turbobets

not sure why i can't figure this out easily myself as i'm mathematically inclined. have to give it more thought. i don't think it's the same as convert from point spread to moneyline. i think it has more to do with distribution of results.

A half point usually costs 10 cents unless it's on or off the key numbers in football.
