How to calculate the juice in futures and mixing and matching for +EV
I did a search for calculating the juice on futures and couldn't find anything. Can anyone enlighten me? Also, is it possible to mix and match futures from various books to find +EV bets? Would these even be worthwhile if you found them?

    Thanks.

Change them all to percentages (i.e. -150 = .6), add up all the number and how ever much over "1" you are is the hold.

      I remember answering this before.
take inverse of all the payoffs 5-1 becomes 1/6 or .1667
      8-1 1/9 or .1111
add the fractions or decimals for all the teams, you should have a number like 1.33, something higher than 1 usually anyway. divide 1 by that # so in the case of 1.33 your payback would be 75.18% for vig of 24.88%. High vig such as this is common at least for land based casinos on futures.

Now you can shop around to reduce the vig. If you like you can eliminate some teams you believe have no shot. Once you have the original decimals adding to less than 1 you can phrase your bets to be sure of a win.

Thanks. Wow, the vig is ridiculous on most of these. I'm trying to play around with eliminating some teams/players (golf) but it doesn't seem worth it for the length of time money is held and the amount of time calculating....

Yes, they are a highly profitable area for books, and you tie your money up for a too long period of time to boot.

            one team = 1/(x+1), where in 75-1 odds, x=75

i have looked at two sites, one site total was at 1.63 the other was over 1.7.

pretty awful, but there is real value in there, as they dont update quickly enough.

along the same lines... if i have real value in 6 teams by the time the ncaa tourney starts,
anyone have a good idea how best to profit?

            eg where to hedge?

I know 5dimes offers bets such as team x to not win championship. Thats usually much better than doubling a bet against team after loss as a hedge.
