    Optimal # of Teaser Legs
I've searched the forum, and couldn't find a solid answer on this:What is the optimal number of legs in a Wong teaser? This weekend we have NYG+2, BAL+2.5, DAL+2, and NYJ+2. Using dsi I can get -110 on a 2-Teamer, +180 on a 3-Teamer, or +300 on a 4-Teamer. How do I go about calculating which teaser has the highest EV?Thanks in advance!

Showing the cover rate needed for each leg to break even. 4 teamer is the best.

    2 teamer: (110/210)^(1/2) = 72.37%
    3 teamer: (100/280)^(1/3) = 70.95 %
    4 teamer: (100/400)^(1/4) = 70.71%

Is DSI indeed charging you -110? For me they upped the juice to -120 for 2 teamers as of 4-5 days ago.

        DSI charges -110 for a 2 teamer

it's -120 if you buy half a point

Heh -120 for me too, been that way for a month.

Not to mention $100 limits, and that's by team not bet.

So, if I bet $100 on the Bears with the Lions, I cannot also bet the bears or the lions with anyone else.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for.

Yeah, just double checked it. 6 pts is -110. I guess I haven't had the misfortune of being a winning player lol

The best way is to build a model that will take into account your odds/edge and spit out the optimal teaser plays.

                Thats the hard way.

Easy way is to just figure out the edge on the added legs, going from 2 teams/-110 to 3 teams/+180, you are being charged -214 (2.8/1.909)

Pretty easy to find a 3rd leg with a decent edge at that price.

Assuming your 2 teamer is already an edge play, almost always better to add a 3rd leg.

                  Thanks for your input Pancho.

So let me see if I have a handle on this. In order to add a third leg, I only need it to have better than a 68% chance of covering?

You are increasing variance going from 2 to 3 teams so i'd look for a little more than a zero edge leg.

Id say if you can find .71 and up, go to a 3 teamer, at .71 your adding a leg with a 3 % edge.
