ESPN's John Clayton and multiple NFL Network reports have stated that Rams WR Steve Smith is on a "verge of rebirth" in St. Louis.

Multiple reports have been positive about Steve Smith and that he has "come on strong" over the final two weeks of training camp practices. Coming back after 2 years removed with a complex microfracture procedure on his knee, Smith has been the early-camp "surprise" for the Rams, showing "more speed than anticipated."

Smith has been moved back outside and has a shot at taking the No.1 WR job. With the pecking order Steve Smith,Brian Quick, Chris Givens, Danario Alexander and Danny Amendola will have to wait until pre-season games to see who falls into position but as of now its looking like Smith, Quick outside with Amendola in the slot. Smith caught 107receptions for 1,220 yards and 7TDs in 15 starts back in 2009 but has just 59receptions for 653 yards and 4TDs in (18 total games) since because of his knee. Smith is to be viewed as a low-end No.4 Fantasy WR and possibly a Week 1 Waiver Wire pick up but has the potential to see alot of targets on a receiver weak Rams team if he can stay healthy.

According to the North County Times, 2nd Year WR Vincent Brown, WR Malcom Floyd, WR Eddie Royal and TE Antonio Gates continue to be the "primary targets" in training camp.

Newly acquired WR Robert Meachem is reportedly having "chemistry issues" with QB Phillip Rivers. The Chargers' current plan is for Meachem and Malcom Floyd to start on the outside, with Eddie Royal primarily featured in the slot. Royal who has been gaining alot of praise from coaches and teammates suffered a pulled groin and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks.

Head Coach Norv Turner said on ESPN's NFL32 last month that Royal is the most impressive player he's coached the past few seasons.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Brandon Tate has been listed as a starting wide receiver opposite A.J. Green and ahead of WR Armon Binns on the team's first depth chart of training camp. Tate dealt with hamstring problems last week but returned to practice and played in the team's scrimmage Sunday, Aug. 5, catching a touchdown. Rookie Mohamaed Sanu was listed fourth on the depth chart.

Kevin Smith - RB, Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz has been happy with RB Kevin Smith during training camp. "He's a very consistent player. He's very good mentally," Schwartz said. He went on to note Smith knows the team's offense inside and out and has done a nice job of picking up a few special teams. "Kevin has had not just a good training camp, but a good offseason program for us," Schwartz noted.

Marshawn Lynch - RB, Seattle Seahawks

Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch appeared in midseason form during a team scrimmage Sunday, Aug. 5. He broke a 70-yard run during the work out.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe, who is the last unsigned franchise player, plans to show before the regular season begins, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

Toby Gerhart - RB, Minnesota Vikings

There are no plans by the Minnesota Vikings coaching staff to let RB Toby Gerhart shoulder a heavier load in the preseason opener Friday, Aug. 10, against the San Francisco 49ers. 'We'll get him in there some,' head coach Leslie Frazier said Monday, Aug. 6, 'but we're not going to hand it off to him a lot, not in the preseason. He'll have limited reps for sure.'

Colin Kaepernick - QB, San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said QB Colin Kaepernick will be the second quarterback to enter the game in their first preseason game Friday, Aug. 10.

Travis was married once, at age 19, to a woman six years his senior; the marriage was later annulled. He is currently engaged.[10] Henry has fathered at least eleven children by ten different women.[11] Henry has had on-going problems making his child support payments to the mothers of nine of his children. He was arrested in Polk County, Florida in March 2009 and charged with failing to pay $16,600 in child support.[12] His lawyer estimates that he is obligated to pay at least $170,000 per year in child support payments.[

Witten hurt (spleen), could miss the first game, best case. Could miss the year if he has surgery. Doesnt appear to be a ruptured spleen, but he did have internal bleeding.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten suffered a slightly lacerated spleen in Monday's preseason game and could miss the season opener against the New York Giants.
