NFL Player News - Week 7

    Courtesy of Footballguys.com

NYJ - TE Chris Herndon added to roster

    Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon was activated from the Reserve/Suspended list Monday, Oct. 14. The team also waived LB Frankie Luvu.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Herndon has a hamstring injury so we'll have to see if he can get back to practice. He'll step in as the top tight end for the Jets and has fantasy value in that role.

PIT - QB Mason Rudolph hopeful for Week 8

    Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph (concussion) is planning to be cleared from concussion protocol after the team returns from its Week 7 bye to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We didn't see Rudolph on Sunday night against the Chargers. Instead, Devlin Hodges got the start for the Steelers. We'll know more about Rudolph's status as the week of practice goes on.

NYG - TE Evan Engram practices some

    Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) took part in individual drills during the light practice Monday, Oct. 14. He could have a chance to return this week.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Giants were missing so many weapons last week against the Patriots. This week at home against the Cardinals, their players are going to be worth starting...if healthy. Keep an eye on Engram during the week.

NYG - RB Saquon Barkley practices

    Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) took part in individual drills during the light practice Monday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barkley is getting close to a return. We'll see if he can do more as the week of practice rolls on. The Giants have a sweet matchup on Sunday against a bad Cardinals defense.

NE - N'Keal Harry to practice

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry (ankle) is expected to practice this week. Harry is on the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Harry, their first-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, could come off IR in a couple of weeks. They could use help at the position, so we'll see if Harry is one of their 'designated to return' players.

LAR - RB Todd Gurley has a chance to play

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley (quadriceps) has a chance to return in Week 7, and the team hasn't ruled him out. However, the injury is on the same leg as his troublesome knee, which doesn't allow for a lot of stability.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs were already wary of Gurley heading into this season and this quad injury doesn't help. Watch him to practice later in the week. The Rams travel to face a bad Falcons defense in Week 7.

DAL - WR Amari Cooper has bruised thigh

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (thigh) was diagnosed with a thigh bruise, which can be painful, but isn't considered serious.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper might be limited during the week of practice with this injury. The Cowboys are at home to play the Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.

CLE - QB Baker Mayfield not expected to miss time

Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield (hip) should not miss any practice time after injuring his hip during the Week 6 game, according to head coach Freddie Kitchens.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mayfield has the bye week in Week 7 to get healthier. He was in clear pain dealing with this hip injury but should be fine when the team gets back to practice next week.

TB - QB Jameis Winston safe for now

    Source: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is in no danger of losing his starting job at this point, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Winston throws interceptions like he's handing out Halloween candy. He's got 10 interceptions so far this season and threw half of them against the Panthers in Week 6.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders listed as limited

Source: The Athletic - Nicki Jhabvala

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (knee) was limited during practice Monday, Oct. 14. The Broncos did not hold a practice Monday, so this is an estimation.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The word out of Denver is that Sanders knee injury is minor. We'll see if he can practice later in the week. The team needs him as they don't have much behind Courtland Sutton in the WR corps.

BUF - RB Devin Singletary takes part in practice

    Source: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques

Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary (hamstring) participated in practice Monday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bills had a bye week to get Singletary (and others) some rest. He was close to returning before the bye, so he should be good to go for Week 7. Singletary will get reserve snaps behind Frank Gore, but he has 'what the heck' flex appeal for Fantasy GMs.

CIN - WR A.J. Green in limbo for Week 7

Source: Marisa Contipelli -- Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) continues to make progress from his preseason ankle injury, but head coach Zac Taylor offered only a 'we'll see' when asked about Green's potential availability for Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's been 'we'll see' with Green for quite some time. When he comes back, Green could get back to his WR1 ways rather quickly. His return would also boost the potential for QB Andy Dalton.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson gets foot checked out

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (foot) underwent an MRI on his injured foot Monday, Oct. 14. The team is reportedly still awaiting the results.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see if Thompson has to miss time with this injury. He went down late in the second half against the Dolphins. Thompson has flex appeal in PPR leagues with his current role as Washington's change-of-pace back.

BAL - WR Marquise Brown day-to-day

    Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens WR Marquise Brown (ankle) did not play in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but head coach John Harbaugh said the receiver remains day-to-day Monday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brown was given more time to rest his ankle injury as he didn't play in Week 6. We'll see if the speedster can get back to practice by the end of the week.

JAX - WR Marqise Lee likely to miss multiple games

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (ankle) is considered week-to-week after suffering a sprained ankle that has been described as 'minor to moderate' in Week 6 versus the New Orleans Saints, according to a source.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lee has not been much of a factor for the Jaguars passing game this year with only two receptions in 2019. We'll see Chris Conley get some more work

NE - Benjamin Watson back with NE

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss

Free-agent TE Benjamin Watson (Patriots) is expected to re-sign with the New England Patriots after the team released him last week. Per ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots did not have a roster spot for him at that time, but injuries have altered the picture.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Watson could get back with the team and might have a chance to be fantasy relevant as their starting tight end. We'll wait to see if that happens. If you play in a crazy deep league and have the bench space, watch for the Patriots to make this move.

PHI - WR DeSean Jackson likely to continue sitting out

Source: NBC Sports Philadelphia - Reuben Frank

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen) is reportedly making progress but not expected to practice Wednesday, Oct. 16.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Eagles could sure use him. Jackson is working his way back from this injury but is not quite ready yet. We'll know more about his practice status later in the week.

KC - WR Sammy Watkins eyeing Week 7 return

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) is expected to return to action in Week 7 versus the Denver Broncos.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs play the Broncos on Thursday night. We'll know more about his playing status on Wednesday. After a two-game slide, it would be good for the Chiefs to get Watkins out there to attack a depleted Broncos secondary.

NYG - RB Wayne Gallman takes part

    Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman (concussion) took part in individual drills during the light practice Monday, Oct. 14.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Let's see if Gallman can keep that up during the week of practice. He missed last week's game but could be ready for Sunday's home matchup against the Cardinals in Week 7.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard does some work

    Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (concussion) took part in individual drills during the light practice Monday, Oct. 14. He is still a long shot to play in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Shepard doesn't play in Week 7 against the Cardinals, expect as much Golden Tate as you can handle.

It’s happening: Former Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the LA Rams for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source tells ESPN.

    Wednesday Update

NO - RB Alvin Kamara dealing with high-ankle 'type' issue

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) is dealing with a high-ankle type issue that will limit him in practice through the week, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero Tuesday, Oct. 15. Kamara believes he still has a shot to play against the Chicago Bears Sunday, Oct. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

"Still has a shot" is not what we want to hear but at least there's a shot. Stay tuned to what he's able to do this week. If Kamara is your guy, be preparing for a backup plan.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson dealing with turf toe

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) was diagnosed with a mild case of turf toe and his availability for Week 7 is 'in some doubt,' according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Turf toe is a painful injury that can have long-lasting effects if not given proper time to heal. We could see Thompson miss some games with this injury, no matter how 'minor' they say it is. Wendell Smallwood could get more time as a change-of-pace back if Thompson has to miss time.

KC - RB LeSean McCoy gashing defenses on first down

    Source: NFL Matchup on ESPN

Kansas City Chiefs RB LeSean McCoy leads all rushers - minimum 20 rush attempts - with 6.79 yards per carry on first down. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ranks second at 6.32, while Minnesota Vikings RB Alexander Mattison (5.87), Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (5.83) and San Francisco 49ers RB Matt Breida (5.71) round out the top five.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCoy can still play at a high level...provided he hangs onto the rock and does a good job in pass protection. The Chiefs travel to Denver to play the Broncos on Thursday night. McCoy has flex appeal in that matchup.

TEN - QB Ryan Tannehill To Start

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Ian Rapoport reports, "The #Titans are making a QB change. Ryan Tannehill has been informed he'll get the start Sunday against the #Chargers, sources tell me and

@TomPelissero. Former No. 2 overall pick Marcus Mariota goes to the bench."

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're leery Tannehill will be much better but he'll get his shot.

NE - N'Keal Harry designated to return

Source: The Athletic - Nick Underhill

Updating a previous report, New England Patriots WR N'Keal Harry (ankle) returned to practice Tuesday, Oct. 15, and has been designated as one of the team's two players to return from the Reserve/Injured list.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Harry was the team's first-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft. The Arizona State product had a rough training camp and preseason. In super deep leagues, we're stashing him merely because of the offense he's on.

NO - RB Travaris Cadet meets with New Orleans

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Free-agent RB Travaris Cadet (Panthers) worked out for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cadet has spent most of his pro career with the Saints, and they're likely just updating their emergency list here. Alvin Kamara (ankle) is a little banged up, so perhaps the Saints want to add some depth behind Latavius Murray.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders practices Tuesday

    Source: 9News.com - Mike Klis

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (knee) was able to practice Tuesday, Oct. 15, and there is optimism he will be able to play in Week 7 versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders has had a knee injury that has limited him over the last two weeks. The Broncos have a short week as they play the Chiefs in Week 7 on Thursday night. If Sanders plays, consider him more of a 'what the heck' flex with the team moving to a run-heavy mode against a Chiefs defense that struggles to stop the run.

NE - WR Phillip Dorsett practices

Source: The Boston Globe - Nora Princiotti

New England Patriots WR Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) practiced Tuesday, Oct. 15.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dorsett has been frequently targeted and a deep threat for Tom Brady, so he could be worth a pickup in typical leagues with a full week of practice.

Underdogs are 56-35-1 (62%) ATS in the 2019 NFL season.

This is the second best start for pooches after six weeks since 2005.

In 2012, dogs were 57-32-1 (64%) ATS after Week 6.

Other than a few plays, they did nothing. It was Denver’s weak offense that kept them out of the game.

    Friday Update

KC - MRI coming for QB Patrick Mahomes

Source: Yahoo! Sports - Terez A. Paylor

Updating an ongoing story, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (knee) suffered a knee injury against the Denver Broncos in Week 7 but avoided a fracture, according to a source. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI Friday, Oct. 18.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fingers crossed. There seems to be some optimism here so stay tuned.

NYG - Full practice for RB Saquon Barkley

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Do not worry about starting Barkley. He's back a bit early from this ankle injury but should be more than good to go.

ARI - RB David Johnson upgraded to limited

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle) was upgraded to a limited participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 17, after sitting out Wednesday's session.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson could have a nice game against the Giants on Sunday...even if the team uses more of Chase Edmonds than normal. Fantasy GMs should consider Johnson a RB1 while Edmonds is more of a flex play in Week 7.

BUF - RB Devin Singletary practices in full

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Singletary is back and has a good matchup against a bad Dolphins defense. He's a 'what the heck' flex as a backup RB behind Frank Gore. The rookie has proven that he can put up fantasy points in a reserve role.

    WR John Brown limited again

    Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR John Brown (groin) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

OAK - WR Tyrell Williams still out

Source: The Oakland Tribune - Jerry McDonald

Oakland Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (foot) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 17, as he deals with plantar fasciitis.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Williams may miss Sunday's game with this foot injury. The Raiders may get to use a lot of their new wide receiver Zay Jones if Williams is out.

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers WRs Davante Adams (toe), Marquez Valdes-Scantling (knee, ankle) and Geronimo Allison (concussion) were sidelined at practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Allen Lazard is looking like an excellent Week 7 sleeper against the Oakland secondary. Darrius Shepherd and Jake Kumerow could also get more opportunity

HOU - WR Kenny Stills practices in full

Houston Texans WR Kenny Stills (hamstring) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stills is back this week for the Texans. That means Keke Coutee won't get much work. Stills is the No. 3 receiver for the team behind DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller.

CIN - TE Tyler Eifert back on field

    Source: Bengals.com

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Eifert usually gets some rest during the week. He's going to play on Sunday against the Jaguars and has low-end TE1 upside.

DAL - WR Michael Gallup a limited participant

Source: 105.3 The Fan - Mike Fisher

Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 27.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Cowboys play on Sunday night against the Eagles and they may not have Amari Cooper. That would make Gallup their top wide receiver. Adjust your expectations accordingly and check in on Friday to see the practice status for both wide receivers.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (groin) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts TE Eric Ebron (illness) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Check back to see if Ebron can get healthy before Sunday. The Colts can turn to more of Jack Doyle if Ebron isn't quite himself.

CHI - WR Taylor Gabriel practices Thursday

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears WR Taylor Gabriel (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gabriel hasn't played since Week 3 but should be back this week. The Bears are at home against a tough Saints defense on Sunday.

NO - RB Alvin Kamara misses another practice

    Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) remained out of practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kamara may not practice at all this week. However, he thinks he's going to play on Sunday against the Bears. We think the Saints could shut him down and just feature Latavius Murray more. Keep an eye on this situation closely.

CHI - QB Mitchell Trubisky practices in full

    Source: ChicagoBears.com

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky (shoulder) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Trubisky is back this week for the home game against the Saints. His return isn't necessarily a big boost for the offense or any of the receivers.

GB - RB Aaron Jones logs another full practice

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (shoulder) practiced in full Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs are dismayed over the back and forth we see between Jones and Jamaal Williams over the last two weeks. Jones should still be considered an RB1 against the Raiders in Week 7 while Williams is more of a RB3 or flex play.

GB - TE Jimmy Graham misses another practice

Source: Green Bay Press-Gazette - Ryan Wood

Green Bay Packers TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) didn't practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy GMs have other options at the position. Graham isn't the player he used to be and we're watching to see if the Packers activate rookie Jace Sternberger off the Injured Reserve in a couple of weeks.

    WR Christian Kirk stays limited

    Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (ankle) remained limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kirk could have a big game if he plays in Week 7. The ankle problem may cause him to miss another game. The Cardinals are on the road to take on the Giants Sunday.

NE - WR Josh Gordon misses practice

    Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (ankle, knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Patriots travel to play the Jets on Monday night. We've been waiting for Gordon to go off this year but that hasn't yet happened. He may be on a lot of benches in Week 7.

NYJ - TE Chris Herndon does not practice

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We may have to wait and see Herndon on the field in Week 8. When he returns, Herndon has TE1 potential for Fantasy GMs if he can stay healthy and play up to his potential.

NYG - TE Evan Engram takes part in practice

    Source: Giants.com

New York Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Engram is back this week and has a great matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday. He's back to being a TE1 for Fantasy GMs.

NO - QB Drew Brees continues to make progress

    Source: NFL.com - Kevin Patra

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees (thumb) said he has started working with a regular NFL football as part of his rehab.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're getting closer to a return for the veteran quarterback. Brees said he will have to wear a brace on his thumb when he returns to the lineup. Teddy Bridgewater remains a solid starter for the Saints while Brees continues to miss time.

WAS - RB Chris Thompson sidelined again

    Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins RB Chris Thompson (toe) missed a second straight day of practice Thursday, Oct. 17.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It doesn't look like Thompson will be ready for the matchup with the 49ers this week. He isn't known as a fast healer and turf toe is tricky issue for running backs, so don't count on seeing him back in the lineup soon.

CIN - WR A.J. Green still needs more time

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Tyler Dragon

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (ankle) will not practice again Thursday, Oct. 17, and told reporters he still has a 'little ways to go' before he can return to full action. One team beat reporter says he doesn't expect him to play in Week 7.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It makes no sense for Green to return next week with the Bengals bye coming up in Week 9. He'll back in Week 10 at the earliest as it's clear the team should have put him on injured reserve at the beginning of the season.

JAX - WR Dede Westbrook dealing with shoulder injury

    Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook (shoulder) is not expected to practice Thursday, Oct. 17, due to a shoulder injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Westbrook was set up for a big game against a Bengals defense that will be missing both starting corners. Chris Conley could creep onto the what the heck flex radar if Westbrook can't go.

DAL - WR Amari Cooper still out of practice

Source: USA TODAY Sports - Jori Epstein

Dallas Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (ankle, quadriceps) was not able to practice 'meaningfully' Thursday, Oct. 17 as he deals with a pair of leg injuries.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper looks doubtful for Sunday night. If he is active, he'll have a high ceiling, but floor of zero. Tavon Austin, Cedrick Wilson, Demaryius Thomas, and Nelson Agholor are good adds in deep leagues if you want to wait on Cooper and have an injury hedge. Michael Gallup should have a big game Sunday night whether Cooper is out there or not.

MIA - RB Kenyan Drake involved in trade talks

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake has been involved in trade discussions, and the team is willing to trade him for the right offer.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There is no obvious trade partner right now unless we are looking at Drake as a depth add and not a core piece of the offense he lands in. That could change this week if a big running back injury happens. It's also possible that some team's starter is worse off than they are letting on in injury reports. Drake's immediate value could take a hit with a trade, but his ceiling will go up if he's in any other offense outside of Washington or Cincinnati.

OAK - TE Darren Waller receives extension

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Oakland Raiders TE Darren Waller was signed to a three-year contract extension through the 2023 season, a source said Wednesday, Oct. 16. He was slated to be a restricted free agent in March 2020. His deal is around $9 million annually.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Waller was a great redemption story this offseason and has followed through with strong performances. He'll remain a solid TE1 going forward.

TB - TE O.J. Howard will not be dealt

Source: Tampa Bay Times - Rick Stroud

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard will not be traded at the deadline, according to a source. The organization can also have him under control for two to three more years depending on franchise or transition tags, too.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard isn't being used enough in the passing game to justify holding him in typical leagues, and now the hope of going elsewhere and being used more is dead if this report is correct.

    Sunday Update

NE - WR Josh Gordon unlikely for MNF

    Source: ESPN.com - Mike Reiss

New England Patriots WR Josh Gordon (ankle, knee) did not participate in practice Saturday, Oct. 19, and is not expected to play in the Week 7 game Monday, Oct. 21.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gordon's knee injury is not considered major but he is going to miss a game at least. Julian Edelman and Phillip Dorsett will be the primary wide receivers with RB James White likely to catch quite a few passes out of the backfield too.

NYJ - WR Demaryius Thomas questionable vs. Patriots

    Source: Patriots.com

New York Jets WR Demaryius Thomas (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Saturday, Oct. 19, and is questionable for Monday Night Football.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It can't really be a revenge game for Thomas because he wasn't with the Patriots that long this offseason. He did call his brief stint in New England 'a waste of time' but we can't imagine Thomas being too fired up here. Thomas is a 'what the heck' flex on Monday night.

NYJ - TE Chris Herndon doubtful for MNF

    Source: Patriots.com

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon (hamstring) didn't practice Saturday, Oct. 19, and is considered doubtful for Monday, Oct. 21's game against the New England Patriots.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It will likely be one more week before Herndon can make his season debut. Herndon has TE1 upside for Fantasy GMs when he's ready to play.

GB - WR Geronimo Allison upgraded to questionable

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers WR Geronimo Allison (concussion, chest) on Saturday, Oct. 19, was upgraded to questionable, signaling he has better chance of playing in Week 7 on Sunday, Oct. 20.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Packers are going to be without Davante Adams again in Week 7. They also might be without Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Sunday which would give Allison, Jake Kumerow and Allen Lazard more work.

TB - QB Jameis Winston likely out in offseason

Source: Bleacher Report - Mike Freeman

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston is unlikely to return to the team in 2020 with the Buccaneers expected to 'reset their sights' at quarterback via a trade or the draft, according to front-office sources.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. It was a make-or-break season for Winston and if he can't mesh and produce under Bruce Arians then the team will move on. We wouldn't be surprised if they added a quarterback via trade then drafted one in 2020 to groom as a future starter.

PHI - WR DeSean Jackson unlikely to be fully healthy upon return

Source: Philadelphia Daily News - Les Bowen

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson (abdomen) is unlikely to be 100 percent when he is able to return from the abdominal injury which has sidelined him since Week 2, according to head coach Doug Pederson.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Jackson is working his way back although a clear return date is unknown at this time. The Eagles offense is sure missing his deep speed and the veteran will be a welcome return...even if he's not 100 percent.

SEA - TE Will Dissly has successful surgery

    Source: ESPN.com - Brady Henderson

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly (Achilles) underwent surgery on his Achilles' on Thursday, Oct. 17, and head coach Pete Carroll characterized the procedure as 'really successful,' noting that Dissly will get back 'a good couple months' before the usual 12-month recovery time.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'll see what Dissly can do next year in training camp. His first two seasons in the pros have both ended on Injured Reserve. He had a knee injury as a rookie and had the Achilles' injury this year.

    Monday Update

ATL - Ankle injury for QB Matt Ryan

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (ankle) suffered an ankle injury during the Week 7 game and has been ruled out.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Perhaps the injury is minor because he was pulled when the game was out of hand, but he is questionable for next week's game vs Seattle at the very least.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers posts a franchise first

    Source: Packers.com

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers completed 25-of-31 passes for 429 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 7 win against the Oakland Raiders, posting a perfect 158.3 QB Rating. He is the first quarterback in franchise history to finish a game with a perfect passer rating. He also rushed for a score, his first of the season.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This was an amazing performance, even by Aaron Rodgers standards.

MIN - WR Adam Thielen to undergo MRI

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Minnesota Vikings WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) said he is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his injured hamstring but is optimistic about his availability for Week 8.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Vikings play on Thursday night, so Thielen must be extremely optimistic. We would still assume that the short turnaround will keep him from being available unless he was held out of a competitive game as a precaution.

NYG - RB Saquon Barkley back with a touchdown

    Source: ESPN

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) was back in Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals, and he finished with 18 runs for 72 yards and a touchdown while adding three grabs for eight yards on five targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barkley didn't seem to be 100% in this game, but he was effective enough to contribute to fantasy teams. We'll be watching the practice reports to see if he aggravated his ankle injury.

ARI - RB Chase Edmonds fills in admirably

    Source: ESPN

Arizona Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds rushed 27 times for 126 yards and three touchdowns while adding two catches for 24 yards on four targets in
Week 7 against the New York Giants.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Edmonds had a breakout game, with effortless scores breaking through the second and third level against the Giants run defense. He should remain involved enough in the offense to be a flex play against the Saints and fantasy relevant no matter David Johnson's health.

ARI - Weather keeps RB David Johnson on bench

    Source: ESPN

Arizona Cardinals RB David Johnson (ankle, knee) was active in Week 7 against the New York Giants, but with sloppy and rainy weather conditions, head coach Kliff Kingsbury leaned upon RB Chase Edmonds instead of risking injury. Johnson had just one carry for two yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Johnson at least didn't aggravate his injury although fantasy teams that played him won't be that heartened by that. He'll face a tough Saints defense next week but will be worth a start as long as he has a good week of practice.

ATL - RB Devonta Freeman ejected

    Source: AtlantaFalcons.com - Kelsey Conway

Atlanta Falcons RB Devonta Freeman was ejected from the Week 7 game for throwing a punch.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Aaron Donald lifted Freeman off of the ground and Freeman responded with some hands to the face that was interpreted as a punch.

MIN - QB Kirk Cousins stays hot

    Source: ESPN.com

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins completed 24 of his 34 passes for 337 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-30 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 7, his second straight game with four touchdown passes.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cousins continues to answer the critics with another strong game.

OAK - RB Josh Jacobs rumbles for 124 yards

    Source: ESPN

Oakland Raiders RB Josh Jacobs rushed 21 times for 124 yards in the Week 7 loss against the Green Bay Packers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay offense made all the waves here but Jacobs posted a big game with 124 yards.

IND - Zach Pascal goes off in Week 7 win

    Source: ESPN

Indianapolis Colts WR Zach Pascal registered six receptions for 106 yards and two touchdowns in Week 7 against the Houston Texans on seven targets.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Pascal had a breakout game with tough running after the catch and great synchronicity with Jacoby Brissett. He's the clear #2 receiver and should face a good matchup against the Broncos next week.

HOU - WR Kenny Stills surpasses 100-yard mark

    Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans WR Kenny Stills caught four passes for 105 yards against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7. He was targeted five times during the game.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Stills became the primary deep target once Will Fuller went out. He'll be a high ceiling WR3/Flex as a starter against Oakland next week unless Fuller makes an unexpectedly quick recovery.

LAR - RB Todd Gurley back with touchdown

    Source: ESPN

Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley rushed 18 times for 41 yards in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons and he added a 13-yard touchdown reception on his only target.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gurley's touchdown was an over the shoulder catch that many wide receivers would envy and he ran hard on his carries, but the holes just weren't there. He almost had another score late and is still a strong RB2 against the Bengals next week.

LAR - QB Jared Goff tosses two touchdowns

    Source: ESPN

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff completed 22-of-37 passes for 268 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons and he rushed for a score, too.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goff came through with a good fantasy game, but he still hasn't resumed his top form from last year, even against the worst defense in the NFL.

CIN - WR Tyler Boyd targeted 14 times

    Source: ESPN

Cincinnati Bengals WR Tyler Boyd posted five receptions for 55 yards on 14 targets in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Boyd mustered a reasonable PPR line late, but is a low ceiling WR3/Flex going forward with the Bengals season going down the drain.

CIN - WR Alex Erickson breaks out for 137 yards

    Source: ESPN

Cincinnati Bengals WR Alex Erickson registered eight receptions on 14 targets for a career-high 137 yards in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Erickson was the whole pass offense for a good part of the game. He'll be a pickup in very deep leagues until AJ Green returns, but is only a desperation play against the Rams next week.

JAX - WR Dede Westbrook hits the century mark

    Source: ESPN

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook posted six receptions for a team-high 103 yards on nine targets in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Westbrook was questionable with a shoulder injury coming up but ended up being the best play of the Jaguars receivers. The Bengals will be missing both starting corners again vs. the Rams next week, while Westbrook faces the Jets.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette rolls for 131 yards

    Source: ESPN

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette rushed 29 times for 131 yards in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he added two receptions for 14 yards.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette was stuffed at the one on fourth down or it would have been a bigger day for him. He's a solid RB1 heading into a matchup against the Jets, although he is being worked hard for a running back with a history of ankle/foot injuries.
