'I'm trying to be in the best shape to be able to handle that load because it's not easy. I know I could do it,' said Mixon. 'You always have to expect it. Even if it doesn't happen, you have to always expect it. And I always try to do whatever I can to maximize my ability. I feel like with what I can do, I should be able to do that easily.'

Ravens | Michael Crabtree officially let go
Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree's release was made official Monday, Feb. 25, saving the Ravens $4.6 million in salary cap space.
Footballguys view: This was an expected move. Crabtree was set for a $2 million bonus next month and was on the books for $7 million in 2019. The veteran receiver is not the same player he used to be but he should have some interest on the open market.

Raiders | Marshawn Lynch likely to stay?
Oakland Raiders impending free-agent RB Marshawn Lynch is considered more likely to remain with the Raiders since they will be staying in Oakland.

NFL | Drew Lock will throw at Combine
Missouri QB Drew Lock will participate in throwing activities during the NFL Combine this week, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Lock is considered a first-round pick and one of the best quarterbacks in this draft class. It's not a great group of quarterbacks coming out this year, but there are things to like about Lock. He's got a big arm, good size and is more athletic than some think. Think a likable Jay Cutler. We'll see if Lock impresses with his arm (he should) and cements himself as a top-10 pick in this draft.

Packers | Randall Cobb unlikely to return
Impending free-agent WR Randall Cobb is not expected to re-sign with the Green Bay Packers, according to NFL Network's Michael Silver.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. The Packers selected three wide receivers in the 2018 NFL draft, and those young players should play a larger role this season. Davante Adams remains as the lead receiver for the Packers. Cobb played in only nine games in 2018 and may not have much of a market for his services.

NFL | Devin Singletary a LeSean McCoy clone? Mon Feb 25, 02:27 PM
Florida Atlantic RB Devin Singletary is the 'second-best (running) back (in the 2019 draft class)' in the opinion of NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah, who stated Singletary 'has a little (LeSean) McCoy to him.'
Footballguys view: Singletary is one of our favorite running backs in the 2019 NFL draft. Measuring in at 5'9" 200 pounds, Singletary is tough to bring down. In 2018 at FAU, Singletary had 1,027 yards rushing after contact. He could be a second- or third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

NFL | Rodney Anderson won't do much at combine Mon Feb 25, 02:03 PM
University of Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson (knee) will only participate in the bench press at the 2019 NFL Combine, according to a source. Anderson, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in September and is not expected to be ready for Oklahoma's pro day, is reportedly hoping to work out for scouts during a personal pro day in April.
Footballguys view: Anderson has had three season-ending injuries during his college career with the Sooners. He's had huge games in college but Anderson has also missed plenty of time with injuries. Despite his natural talent, this long injury history has Anderson graded as more of a late-round pick for the 2019 NFL draft.

Texans | D'Onta Foreman impressing Tue Feb 26, 05:22 PM
Houston Texans RB D'Onta Foreman (Achilles') has worked hard so far this offseason and impressed the Texans with how he's looked after missing all but one game last year.
Footballguys view: Foreman has a chance to be the running back of the present if he gets all the way back. The Texans are at a crossroads with Lamar Miller with 5.5 million due this year. They could address the position in free agency or the draft if they have doubts about Foreman.

Broncos | Antonio Brown not of interest to Broncos
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown will not be pursued via traded by the Denver Broncos this offseason.
Footballguys view: The Broncos definitely have a need for a veteran presence at wide receiver and are in a win now window, but his personality is not for everyone and it will require draft pick compensation.

Cowboys | Allen Hurns could play in slot
Dallas Cowboys WR Allen Hurns could take over as the slot receiver if impending free-agent WR Cole Beasley is not re-signed. Jones iterated that the Cowboys would like to retain Beasley.
Footballguys view: The Cowboys should have a lot of options even if they can't afford Beasley, but it makes sense to look on the roster first. Some have said that Hurns is better in the slot, so this could end up helping the team get more value out of his signing.

Bengals | John Ross on the trade market
Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross is being shopped around the NFL, according to sources. Ross was the ninth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. According to NFL media insider Ian Rapoport, a fresh start will be welcomed by both parties.
Footballguys view: Ross has the speed to take the top off of a defense, he was relatively healthier in 2018 and showed a knack for scoring with seven touchdowns. A lot of teams should be interested in him. 2018 UDFA Auden Tate or 2017 fourth rounder Josh Malone could get more opportunity.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay high on Peyton Barber
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber drew praise recently from new head coach Bruce Arians.'I love him. When you watch the tape, you don't see him as 230. You see him as a 205-pound running back with great feet. Not every back's going to be a home-run hitter, but he gets those 10-, 15-yard runs, breaking tackles, a power runner, punishing runner, that's the kind I like to start. Footballguys view: Jacobs is considered to be the best running back in this draft class. He's a power back with the ability to grind down an opponent as the game goes on. Jacobs should be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft.

Texans | Will Fuller making good progress
Houston Texans WR Will Fuller (knee) is making good progress in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament but his availability for offseason workouts is uncertain, according to head coach Bill O'Brien.
Footballguys view: Fuller will be eased back into action whenever he's ready. The Texans let Demaryius Thomas go, so they'll need guys like Fuller and Keke Coutee to stay healthy in 2019.

Browns | Duke Johnson not changing positions
Cleveland Browns RB Duke Johnson will not be moved to wide receiver even though the team added RB Kareem Hunt this offseason, according to head coach Freddie Kitchens.
Footballguys view: Johnson might be traded away once Hunt is off the suspension list. We don't know what he's got to serve but the league should be handing down a suspension for Hunt. Once that happens, the clock is likely ticking on Johnson's time with the Browns.

Footballguys view: Eifert is talented but he's so oft-injured it's difficult to trust him. The Bengals will need TE help with Eifert hitting the open market. Even if they keep him around for 2019 and beyond, they can't trust him to stay healthy.

Ravens | Gus Edwards the starter for now
Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards is the starting running back at this point but will have competition for the job, according to head coach John Harbaugh.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. The Ravens may move on from Alex Collins but they still have Edwards and Kenneth Dixon to compete for snaps. They should also add running back talent via free agency or the draft.

Footballguys view: The Broncos have traded for Joe Flacco, although it's not official until the start of the new league year (March 13th). Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent WR Golden Tate said he would love to be signed by the New England Patriots in free agency. Turning 31 years old this offseason, Tate is focused on winning.
Footballguys view: Lots of players want to join a champion, but the numbers have to be right. It has already been reported, though, that New England may not want to sign Tate if his asking price is too high.

49ers | Antonio Brown not pursued by 49ers
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown has not been inquired about by the San Francisco 49ers in regards to a potential trade, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Footballguys view: The 49ers were a popular team to connect Brown to. The Steelers are open for business but they're not just going to give Brown away. We'll see if they can move Brown before the March 17th deadline to give him a roster bonus.

Footballguys view: McKinnon was set to be the lead back for the 49ers until he got hurt last year. He'll come back this year after missing all of last season and should split time with Matt Breida in the 49ers backfield.

Colts | Jack Doyle out until camp
Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle (hip) underwent hip surgery this offseason and is doing fine. The goal is for him to be recovered in time for training camp.

Packers | Backfield committee for Green Bay?
Green Bay Packers RBs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams are expected to be utilized in a committee approach, according to new head coach Matt LaFleur. LaFleur said the running back position is one of the more violent positions in the league considering the punishment absorbed.
Footballguys view: Here we go again with LaFleur. Last year with the Titans as their OC, LaFleur used both Dion Lewis and Derrick Henry to begin the season. Later in the year he did feature Henry as the lead back with great success. The Packers don't have anyone like Henry on the roster, so this could be RBBC for the entirety of the 2019 season so long as everyone stays healthy.

Jaguars | Jacksonville the front-runner for Nick Foles?
The Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be the front-runner for acquiring Philadelphia Eagles impending free-agent QB Nick Foles when free agency opens March 13, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He notes, 'A lot can change once free agency opens ...,' however.
Footballguys view: That sounds about right. The Jaguars can still play strong defense and run the ball when everyone is healthy...but they sure could use an upgrade at quarterback. Foles is going to be a free agent, and he should be able to make around $25 million annually from any team that signs him.

Rams | LA Rams to keep eye on Todd Gurley's usage
Los Angeles Rams RB Todd Gurley will likely have his workload monitored more often moving forward, according to comments made by general manager Les Snead on Thursday, Feb. 28.'I think where we have to go is to fast forward to now is with Todd, he's had a lot of carries since he's come in the league, a lot of yards, a lot of touchdowns ... things like that. Obviously, senior year, junior year, Georgia, (tore) the ACL, so over that time there's an element of wear and tear and I think we have to determine in probably two stages: are we going to give him the amount of load that he's had in the past or are we going to lessen that load to let's say keep him fresher for the season and for the seasons beyond. If you go that route, you have to have a good, let's call it Batman and Robin combination or add another superhero figure into that and figure how you're going to do it. ... It's something we want to be intentional about and proactive,' Snead said.
