      no question in my mind

Let’s make sure Tatis continues this for more than 1 year before we call him top ten, but I like him.

The Padres never get any exposure so the casual fans are missing out on Tatis. He is a star in the making and when the Padres become contenders people will start to take notice.

Reds rookie Aquino sets MLB mark with HR No. 8

WASHINGTON -- The Punisher has punished again.

Cincinnati Reds rookie Aristides Aquino went deep against the Washington Nationals on Monday, making him the first player in MLB history to hit eight home runs in his first 12 career games.

Aquino's latest blast came on a mammoth solo shot against Nats reliever Tanner Rainey. With two outs in the top of the eighth inning of Cincy's 7-6 loss, the 25-year-old crushed a 98 mph fastball from Rainey and deposited it over the fence in right-center field, 425 feet away.

Nicknamed "The Punisher" by his brother when he was growing up, Aquino -- who appeared in one game last season -- has been pulverizing baseballs since he was called up on Aug. 1.

I know what I'm saying about him is controversial. As jrgum says, the casual fan has not seen enough of him yet. Around this time next year, everyone will be on board. The kid is as talented a player as i've ever seen, sky is the limit. What is also amazing is that he wants to be great and knows he has to continue working hard to get there. He's also a great teammate, very humble and well spoken. I can't really think of a bad thing to say about him other than he needs to cut down on the strikeouts but that will come with more experience.

The Padres remind me of the Astros maybe 5ish years ago. Perennial basement team that stockpiled a ton of young talent, got some arms, and became a force for years to come. Padres on the right path, but they need their arms to come thru. I woukd strongly consider the over on their win total next year, they are right on the brink

Judge belongs in that list too.
I'm not really a Judge yahoo however when you factor in his defensive play he belongs.

The Nationals have agreed to a minor-league contract with veteran reliever Greg Holland, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network (via Twitter). MLB.com’s Jamal Collier reported earlier today on Twitter that the sides were moving towards a deal.
Holland, a 33-year-old righty, was released recently by the Diamondbacks. He’ll continue to be paid the balance of his $3.25MM salary by the Arizona organization, though the D.C. org will pay the tab for the league minimum rate for whatever time Holland spends in a big-league uniform down the stretch.
When Holland joined the Nats late in the 2018 campaign, he was looking to bounce back from a brutal opening to the season. This time around, he had turned in good results for a lengthy stretch before things soured. But he’s also dealing with a different sort of problem: a marked, mid-season decline in velocity and swinging-strike rate on his fastball.
On the positive side, Holland has seemingly been good at limiting contact. Statcast credits him with a .292 xwOBA-against and excellent .192 xBA-against, though he is allowing more hard contact (36.8%) and a greater exit velocity (89.3 mph) than ever before. Keeping opponents from getting aboard by way of base knocks is particularly important for Holland since his walk rate is over 15% for the second consecutive year.
It remains to be seen whether and when Holland will contribute to the Nats’ pen. But the club has good cause to bring him aboard and hope for the best. The D.C. relief corps is as shaky as any such unit on a contending roster. Having already cycled through quite a few bullpen arms, including no shortage of recognizable veterans, the Nationals have little choice but to keep giving looks to the hurlers of Holland’s ilk that happen to come available.

Montreal never should have lost their team. They had a great fanbase and that team in 94 was arguably the odds on favorite to win the World Series that year. Hopefully they get a team because they deserve one for sure.

Mets outfielder/infielder Jeff McNeil departed the team’s loss to the Braves on Tuesday with an apparent left hamstring injury, per Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News. He’ll undergo an MRI on Wednesday, Tim Healey of Newsday tweets.
McNeil already spent time on the injured list earlier in the season with a hamstring strain, which shelved him for 12 days. The 27-year-old has otherwise enjoyed a dream season, having slashed .332/.400/.529 (148 wRC+) with 15 home runs in 442 plate appearances. Along with serving as one of the majors’ premier hitters, McNeil has been a versatile defender for the Mets. He has appeared in 79 games in the corner outfield, 26 at second base and 16 at third.
The presence of McNeil is an obvious reason the Mets have saved their season over the past several weeks. Despite Tuesday’s defeat, the former bottom feeders find themselves 61-58 and a manageable two games out of a wild-card spot. At least on paper, losing McNeil would damage their chances to rally for a playoff berth. He’d also be the second keystone option to hit the IL recently for the Mets, who are without starter Robinson Cano because of a torn hamstring. However, the club does still have Joe Panik – whom it signed last week – to handle second and Todd Frazier to man third. It’s in less capable hands in the corner outfield, where Dominic Smith and Brandon Nimmo are currently on the IL.
The McNeil-less Mets would likely have to give more outfield playing time to the light-hitting Juan Lagares (who did have a 4-for-4 night Tuesday) as a complement to Michael Conforto and J.D. Davis. New York also has Aaron Altherr at the major league level, but he has endured a nightmarish season, with Dilson Herrera, Rajai Davis and Gregor Blanco among veteran possibilities in the minors. Alternatively, promoting infielder Ruben Tejada could be in the cards, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
