Eagles | Alshon Jeffery remains idle

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) remains out of practice in organized team activities.

Bears | Dion Sims still valued

Chicago Bears TE Dion Sims is still a valuable piece to the puzzle, according to head coach Matt Nagy. 'The nice thing with Dion is that he's a guy that's proven to be a solid blocker,' Nagy said. 'He can be in there and be your Y-tight end, but yet he still has really good hands. He can make plays on intermediate routes.'

Panthers | Devin Funchess not a No. 1 WR?

Carolina Panthers WR Devin Funchess has the talent to reach 1,000 yards, according to Bill Voth of Panthers.com, but Voth doesn't believe offensive coordinator Norv Turner wants a 'true No. 1 wideout' for his offense.

Ravens | Kenneth Dixon could carve out a role

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon will be a factor this year as long as he continues to do the right things 'on and off the field,' according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun.

Bengals | John Ross seeing lots of work

Cincinnati Bengals WR John Ross has been 'fed the ball on a variety of routes' during OTAs, according to Jim Owczarski of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Falcons | Julio Jones mending fences?

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones said there is 'no bad blood' between he and the organization, and he has simply been working on his own instead of attending OTAs. 'I'm not going nowhere, man,' Jones said. 'I love the team.'

Jets | Chris Herndon making noise

New York Jets TE Chris Herndon is one of the players who has 'stood out' during the first week of OTAs, according to Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com.

Vikings | Stefon Diggs draws praise

Minnesota Vikings WR Stefon Diggs was lauded by new offensive coordinator John DeFillippo recently for displaying 'fantastic' ball skills, according to Sid Hartman of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Footballguys view: Diggs finished 2017 as the no.16 fantasy receiver, largely due to his eight receiving touchdowns. He's a consistently featured player in the Vikings passing game and should become an instant favorite of QB Kirk Cousins.

Buccaneers | Tampa Bay interested in Adrian Peterson?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 'may be ready to take a small gamble' with free-agent RB Adrian Peterson (Cardinals), according to the Florida Football Insiders.

Footballguys view: Peterson could serve as veteran depth on the team. With Doug Martin (Raiders) gone, the Bucs are turning to Peyton Barber and rookie Ronald Jones to carry the load. Peterson would give them a two-down thumper with something to prove after a 2017 season that saw him play for two teams (Saints, Cardinals).

Eagles | Darren Sproles absent from OTAs

Philadelphia Eagles RB Darren Sproles was one of two absences - along with DL Michael Bennett - from OTAs last week, according to Jimmy Kempski of PhillyVoice.com.

Footballguys view: Sproles is coming off a torn ACL that limited him to three games in 2017. He's chosen not to be at voluntary OTAs and is instead working out at home in California. Once again a top change-of-pace option for the Eagles, there is a lot of speculation that he could have a large role on offense. He's got plenty of RB3 value or flex appeal in PPR leagues if healthy.

Bengals | Tyler Eifert limited at OTAs last week

Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) was reportedly moving at 'half speed' last week at OTAs and did not take part in team drills, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer's Jim Owczarski.

Footballguys view: Eifert is a talented player when healthy, but it's the whole 'healthy' thing that he's struggled with as a pro. He's only played in 10 games over the last two seasons, and only made it through two games in 2017. Eifert has TE1 upside, but his problems staying healthy are a concern for fantasy owners. He currently has an ADP of TE12 (11.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Better fit in Tampa than New Orleans, he could mentor the young Bucs' RBs.

          Tuesday Update

Slow Memorial Day NFL News Day

DAL - WR Allen Hurns motivated

Source: The Dallas Morning News - Kate Hairopoulos

Dallas Cowboys WR Allen Hurns is using two disappointing seasons in a row and grief from pundits about Dallas having the worst receiving corps in the league as motivation for 2018. 'Our room, we have a lot of guys who have a lot to prove. I like being in a room like that,' Hurns said. 'Each and every day we're going to go out there and push each other.'

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hurns signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Cowboys and they need him to come through in a big way. They've moved on from Dez Bryant, and Hurns could be the top pass catcher for Dallas in 2018. He'll compete for targets with guys like Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley. Rookie Michael Gallup could also get some playing time this season. Hurns has a current ADP of WR50 (11.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

HOU - RB Adrian Peterson names many possible fits

          Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Charean Williams

Free-agent RB Adrian Peterson (Cardinals) listed the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Rams as potential teams who could use his services.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That's fantastic and all, but the interest has to be there from the other teams. Houston is okay with Lamar Miller and D'Onta Foreman (when healthy). The Packers have a talented group of backs with guys like Ty Montgomery, Jamaal Williams and Aaron Jones. The Panthers seem set with C.J. Anderson and Christian McCaffrey. The Dolphins have Kenyan Drake, Frank Gore and rookie Kalen Ballage in their backfield...and the Rams, well, they've got one of the best in the game in Todd Gurley. As you can see, there's not a lot of room for Peterson with these teams. He may have to wait for injuries to strike in camp before he gets a job.

JAX - Keelan Cole may be slot WR

          Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Keelan Cole appears to be the leading candidate for slot receiver job at this point, in the opinion of FirstCoastNews.com's Mike Kaye.

          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cole is arguably the best route runner on the Jaguars roster, he has strong chemistry with QB Blake Bortles and he's not afraid to run routes over the middle. We should see Donte Moncrief and Marqise Lee start on the outside for the Jaguars, leaving Cole to man the slot. Cole should produce like a WR4 or deep flex receiver for fantasy owners in 2018.

            Wednesday Update

KC - RB Kareem Hunt working on routes

            Source: KCChiefs.com - Matt McMullen

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt said he is working on catching the ball and running more routes in organized team activities.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chiefs new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy could feature Hunt more as a receiver this year. He caught 53 passes as a rookie last year, but Hunt did struggle with pass protection issues. Working on his routes/hands is great, but Hunt will need to prove he can protect the quarterback in order for the team to trust him more in passing situations.

OAK - RB competition in Oakland?

Source: The Athletic - Vic Tafur

Oakland Raiders RB Doug Martin could challenge RB Marshawn Lynch for starting running back duties, in the opinion of The Athletic's Vic Tafur.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Lynch is the lead back at this time, but this is a potential competition that fantasy owners need to monitor. Reports indicate Martin looks quick and has shown burst at organized team activities so far. Lynch has a current ADP of RB32 (7.05) in 12-team PPR leagues.

NYJ - QB Teddy Bridgewater standing out

            Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Rich Cimini

New York Jets QB Teddy Bridgewater (knee) has 'generated a legitimate buzz' thus far in OTAs, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bridgewater signed a one-year 'prove it' deal with the Jets this offseason. Reports indicate he performed well in the first practice and maintained that high level of play throughout the week. In addition, Bridgewater has impressed his new teammates with his 'football acumen and mental toughness.'

SEA - Seattle signing WR Brandon Marshall

            Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent WR Brandon Marshall (Giants) is signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday, May 29, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Seahawks have a thin WR depth chart behind Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. Marshall is no lock for the 53-man roster, but if healthy he could contribute as a part-time player. Fantasy owners shouldn't get too excited about his prospects in 2018. Marshall is no longer the player he used to be, and his top-5 season of 2015 is well in the past. If healthy and contributing, we see Marshall as more of a WR5 from a fantasy lens.

NYG - Odell Beckham nearing full health

            Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. (ankle) is 'pretty close' to being cleared from last year's season-ending ankle injury, according to head coach Pat Shurmur.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Beckham may be able to practice in mandatory minicamp and he's on track to be a full participant for training camp later this summer. He wants a new deal and is in the final year of his rookie contract with an $8.4 million cap hit.

SF - WR Dez Bryant to 49ers unlikely

Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is not expected to be pursued by the San Francisco 49ers.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The 49ers have a strong group of wide receivers, although there are some unproven players on the depth chart. Pierre Garcon is healthy and should be the favorite target of QB Jimmy Garropolo this year. Marquise Goodwin can stretch the field to take the top off the defense while Trent Taylor can work the slot and underneath routes. There's not a lot of room for Bryant in San Francisco. Bryant apparently had interest in joining the 49ers, but the interest is not mutual at this time.

                Thursday Update

ATL - RB Tevin Coleman to be utilized more

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman said the team 'wants' to use him more, like line him up out wide and 'stuff like that.' Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed this, adding how they want to get both running backs 'really involved' in the passing game. He also thought Coleman made a 'big jump' last season.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That is great news for fantasy owners and for Coleman as he's in the final year of his contract. He could be used more as a receiver (only 27 receptions in 2017) and Coleman could score near double-digit touchdowns this season. He's RB27 (6.02) in 12-team PPR leagues.

MIA - QB Ryan Tannehill sharp in practice

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill looks even better than he did before sustaining two injuries to the same knee since December of 2016, according to Dolphins defensive back Bobby McCain.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Dolphins (and Dolphins fans) are hoping McCain is right. Tannehill is certainly in a 'prove it' year with the Dolphins after missing all of the 2017 season. The team didn't add any young, potential franchise quarterback in the 2018 NFL draft so they are all in on Tannehill this season. He's shed his knee brace and is saying all the right things, but fantasy owners aren't buying his stock. Tannehill is currently going undrafted in 12-team PPR leagues that go 15 rounds.

CHI - WR Allen Robinson practices Wednesday

Source: Chicago Tribune - Rich Campbell

Chicago Bears WR Allen Robinson (knee) practiced Wednesday, May 30, for the first time since signing with Bears.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bears should take it slow and steady with Robinson. Things sound like they're on track for the veteran receiver as he prepares for the 2018 season with his new team. Robinson is still working his way towards a full recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Week 1 last year.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed doing agility work

                Source: ESPN.com - John Keim

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (toes) is doing agility drills on the side Wednesday, May 30, and looks fine, according to beat writer John Keim.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Reed only made it through six games last year, so Washington will once again take it easy on him as he returns from yet another injury. We all know Reed can be a top target at the tight end position but he's never played a full 16-game season in his pro career (since 2013). He's getting drafted on potential (again) with a current ADP of TE10 (9.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

BUF - RB LeSean McCoy not given much help in 2017

                Source: STATS LLC

Buffalo Bills RB LeSean McCoy was tackled behind the line of scrimmage 55 times in 287 carries last season, far and away the most in the league.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Even with so many negative runs, McCoy was 8th in the league with an average of 2.76 yards before contact per rush. The Bills will continue to make him the centerpiece of the offense, and he should face stacked boxes in 2018. No matter who starts at quarterback (A.J. McCarron, Nate Peterman, Josh Allen) we'll see defenses focus on stopping McCoy and daring the young passer to throw.

SEA - WR Brandon Marshall officially signs

                Source: Seahawks.com - John Boyle

Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall officially signed his one-year contract worth up to $2 million Wednesday, May 30. FB Marcus X. Martin was waived in a corresponding move.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Marshall is not even close to the player he used to be, but he could help on a Seahawks team that lacks depth after Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. At best, Marshall is on track to be a WR5 for fantasy owners in 2018.

TE Austin Roberts signed by Chargers

                Source: Chargers.com - Ricky Henne

Undrafted free-agent TE Austin Roberts (UCLA) was signed to an undisclosed deal Wednesday, May 30. LS Anthony Kukwa was waived in a corresponding move.

                [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Chargers are looking for help at the TE position after losing Hunter Henry for the season due to a knee injury suffered in OTAs. Roberts is a WR/TE hybrid who can create mismatches over the middle. He's undersized at 6'2" 230 pounds but earned a chance after trying out with the team during rookie minicamp earlier this year.

                    Friday Update

LAC - WR Keenan Allen to play in slot?

                    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen may see more snaps from the slot this year due to TE Hunter Henry (knee) being out for the season. General manager Tom Telesco said the Chargers need to adapt and move on without Henry. Part of that adaptation will be implementing more three-wide receiver sets. In such scenarios, WRs Mike Williams and Tyrell Williams would likely line up on the outside with WR Keenan Allen in the slot, according to ESPN.com's Eric Williams.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Already a guy who, when healthy, we have slotted as a WR1, this could boost Allen's value even further in point per reception leagues. The key, of course, is staying healthy. Good news, though -- he played in all 16 games and led the NFL in targets per snap finishing with 102 catches. We're bullish he can make that two full years in a row.

MIN - RB Dalvin Cook looking at Week 1

Source: St. Paul Pioneer Press - Chris Tomasson

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (knee) said his goal is to be ready for Week 1 and is on track to meet that goal.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cook only played four games but they were impressive -- even the one where he tore his ACL. Cook put together 354 yards and a pair of touchdowns in that stretch, and added 11 receptions for 90 yards as well. As long as he is healthy, he is a full-time weapon and a RB1 in the making.

CIN - WR A.J. Green suffers minor injury

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Jim Owczarski

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green (leg) did not finish practice Tuesday, May 29, after suffering a minor leg injury during practice but said he will be fine.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Bengals will take it easy on Green as he deals with this minor injury. Green is everything to the offense and we'll see if someone like John Ross can start producing opposite the superstar. If TE Tyler Eifert finally stays healthy this year that would also help boost the Bengals passing attack.

KC - RB Kareem Hunt sidelined

                    Source: Chiefs.com - B.J. Kissel

Kansas City Chiefs RB Kareem Hunt (hamstring) did not participate in organized team activities Thursday, May 31, because of a hamstring injury.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Hunt will see a lot of carries with Patrick Mahomes taking over at quarterback. Hunt struggles when the offensive line struggles and that, along with his struggles in pass protection as well as the additions of Kerwynn Williams and Damien Williams as third down backs could cap his production. Even if it does, we still expect him to be a solid RB1, though he doesn't appear to be the type of running back who can overcome poor line play.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper not practicing

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (hamstring) did not participate in practice Tuesday, May 29, because of the hamstring injury he suffered last week.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper needs to stay healthy and finally play up to his potential. This season is a make-or-break year for him even though the Raiders picked up his fifth-year option for 2019.

PIT - Key Steelers absences explained

Source: NFL Network - Aditi Kinkhabwala

Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown has not been attending organized team activities due to the absence of QB Ben Roethlisberger. Brown prefers to work with his starting quarterback and Roethlisberger has been on a family vacation, according to C Maurkice Pouncey.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Roethlisberger did show up on the first day, so there's that. We don't really think Brown (who is a WR1 heading into this season again) and Roethlisberger (who is a QB1) really have much to worry about in terms of missing OTAs. This isn't their first rodeo, and they'll have their timing ready for the season.

NYG - Sherling Shepard working outside

                    Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard has played as an outside receiver significantly more in new head coach Pat Shurmur's offense.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shepard is coming off a season where he disappointed a bit and lost time due to injury. How much of his production issues can be pinned on an awful offensive line, few other weapons to pull defenses off him and with an underwhelming Eli Manning delivering the ball. All that changes this year, or at least that is the plan. Moving to the slot may also help match him up against linebackers, who he should excel against. He still will see Odell Beckham Jr get most of the targets and lose some to both Evan Engram and Saquon Barkley, but could serve as a decent low-end WR4 with some upside, especially in PPR leagues.

LAC - QB in favor of TE Antonio Gates re-signing

                    Source: ESPN.com - Eric D. Williams

Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers said he would be in favor of free-agent TE Antonio Gates (Chargers) re-signing with the Chargers this offseason.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

When Hunter Henry (knee) went down for the season, calling Gates immediately came to mind for everyone out there. We'll see if the Chargers reach out to him before training camp or mandatory minicamp. Rivers said he talked with Gates last week.

JAX - RB Corey Grant to see more touches

                    Source: FirstCoastNews.com - Mike Kaye

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Corey Grant is a player the team has to use, according to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It won't impact Leonard Fournette, which means Grant is unlikely to have much value barring an injury. He looked good in limited carries last year, so if the worst does happen, Grant would be an intriguing pickup, though not someone you need to roster before then.

NYJ - WR Quincy Enunwa injury stems back to 2015

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

Updating previous reports, New York Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (neck) first experienced neck pain in Week 14 of the 2015 season, and it gradually got worse. 'It was easy. There was no rehab,' Enunwa said. 'I had the surgery. I had a brace for a little bit. I had to sleep a certain way for a few days. After that, it was nothing. I wasn't allowed to run (in the beginning). Otherwise, there was no rehab. Everything I did was for my legs, so when I got back I could run.'

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The presence of an injury makes his 58 reception, 857 yard 2016 impressive. Especially if you consider the quarterback situation. Hopefully, he is fully ready to go. Unfortunately, the quarterback situation is not great this year and there is little help to draw the defense off him. It's hard to be excited for Enunwa coming off an injury, with Josh McCown, rookie Sam Darnold or an unknown quantity in Teddy Bridgewater coming off his own serious injury throwing the ball. We wouldn't have Enunwa on a redraft roster save for in the deepest of leagues.

SEA - WR Brandon Marshall had second surgery

                    Source: ProFootballTalk.com - Curtis Crabtree

Seattle Seahawks WR Brandon Marshall indicated that in addition to ankle surgery, he also underwent toe surgery last year to address an injury he suffered back in 2015.

                    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Marshall has been declining over the last few seasons and he is unlikely to have much of an impact with Seattle this year. We wouldn't have him on a roster as of right now.

                          Saturday Update

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin back at full speed

                          Source: BuffaloBills.com - Dominic LoVallo

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin has looked 'leaner, stronger and most importantly faster' during OTAs, according to Dominic LoVallo of BuffaloBills.com

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Good news for Benjamin and the Bills here. Benjamin has been practicing fully during OTAs this year as their top wide receiver. With questionable quarterback play (no matter if Josh Allen or A.J. McCarron start), Benjamin's fantasy projections take a hit. He's WR43 (10.01) in current ADP rankings for 12-team PPR leagues.

PHI - RB Jay Ajayi prepping for big role

Source: The Philadelphia Inquirer - Jeff McLane

Philadelphia Eagles RB Jay Ajayi said he wants to be a 'workhorse' for the offense this year and show what he is capable of doing in a big role.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With LeGarrette Blount (Lions) gone, Ajayi could be in for a larger role as a runner. However, with a healthy Darren Sproles the Eagles might use him as the primary 'fast break' back. Ajayi has a current ADP of RB21 (4.07) in 12-team PPR leagues.

MIA - RB Kenyan Drake not a lock to start

Source: The Miami Herald - Armando Salguero

Miami Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake will not be guaranteed a starting job in 2018 as he battles Frank Gore in camp, according to comments made by running backs coach Eric Studesville to The Miami Herald this week.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Drake is a dynamic back with the ball in his hands. He can make people miss as a runner or receiver out of the backfield. Gore is your veteran banger between the tackles. We'll watch this battle in camp, but we think Drake wins the top spot with Gore working as a power/change-of-pace back.

CHI - 'Game specific' plan for RB Jordan Howard

                          Source: Chicago Sun-Times - Adam L. Jahns

Chicago Bears RB Jordan Howard said that head coach Matt Nagy already deemed him 'the main guy,' but while he's proven he can be a traditional bell-cow running back, Nagy also mentioned that 'in this offense, it's more game specific as to whether or not you need that.'

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Howard has been working diligently this offseason to be a better receiver. Certainly Nagy's offense is going to be more dynamic this season, so Howard could post more than the 23 receptions he had in 2017. Howard has a current ADP of RB15 (3.01) in 12-team PPR leagues.

MIA - Miami getting creative with WR Albert Wilson

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson has reportedly been so impressive in early offseason practices that the team has decided he can be lined up not only in the slot, but also on the boundary and in the backfield.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Keep an eye on Wilson's progress with his new team as the offseason rolls on. Wilson should make for a favorite target of QB Ryan Tannehill. Right now, Wilson is going undrafted in 12-team PPR leagues.

MIA - Mike Gesicki making strides

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins TE Mike Gesicki has 'been on it with assignments' during OTAs, according to tight ends coach Shane Day, and Day said Gesicki is 'on the right track' as a blocker.'

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

At 6'5" 245 pounds, Gesicki is basically a super sized wide receiver who lines up at tight end. He can create mismatches with his size/speed combination and his big hands help him rip contested catches away from defenders. The Dolphins are grooming him as their top tight end, but rookies at that position usually take some time to develop.

ARI - Josh Rosen living up to hype

                          Source: MMQB - Albert Breer

Arizona Cardinals QB Josh Rosen has 'impressed his coaches' with his ability to digest new information, according to Albert Breer of MMQB.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rosen is the smartest guy in the room, just ask him. The rookie quarterback needs to be challenged, and Cardinals OC Mike McCoy should be able to do that with his complex (overly?) system. Sam Bradford may be penciled in as the starter for the Cardinals, but Rosen is clearly the quarterback of the future in Arizona and he could take over at some point in 2018.

NFL - WR Dez Bryant likely will wait

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Free-agent WR Dez Bryant (Cowboys) is not expected to sign with a team until the start of training camp, according to sources. He has received interest from teams but is being patient and selective.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

He's being selective as Bryant turned down a deal from the Ravens earlier this offseason. Bryant may have to wait for injuries to hit during training camp before he gets an offer he likes.

NYG - WR Sterling Shepard working outside

                          Source: ESPNNewYork.com - Jordan Raanan

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard said he has been 'doing a lot on the outside' during OTAs.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Shepard has primarily been a slot receiver during his pro career, and he ranked 5th in the league last year with 639 receiving yards from the slot. The Giants are trying to find a threat opposite Odell Beckham Jr. and Shepard seems to be that guy in OTAs. If Shepard is outside, then we could see guys like Cody Latimer work on the inside. Shepard has WR4 appeal this year no matter where he lines up. He's got a current ADP of WR44 (10.03) in 12-team PPR leagues.

MIA - TE A.J. Derby a weapon as a receiver

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins TE A.J. Derby has 'a natural receiving skill set' but needs to develop as a blocker, according to tight ends coach Shane Day.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Derby has been cast off from two teams (Patriots, Broncos) so far during his short pro career. The Dolphins picked him up last year after Denver got rid of him...even though he was the Broncos leading tight end (even to end the season). Don't ask him to block, but Derby can make 'wow' catches. We'll see if he can hold off rookie Mike Gesicki for the top spot on the depth chart.

MIA - Coach pumping brakes on WR DeVante Parker

Source: The Miami Herald - Barry Jackson

Miami Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has been performing well in OTAs, according to wide receivers coach Ben Johnson, but Johnson said he and the other coaches won't be making 'giant claims about him' like last offseason.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Parker was certainly part of the 'all hype' team last year, and he ended up snaring 57 passes...one more than he did the previous season. He could still have a 'breakout' season in 2018, but Parker has new competition in guys like Albert Wilson and Danny Amendola (to go along with Kenny Stills). He's currently WR39 (8.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.

HOU - Lamar Miller open to RB Adrian Peterson signing

                          Source: NFL.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller recenty told NFL Network's Up To The Minute that he would welcome Adrian Peterson signing with the team.

                          [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller is atop the Texans depth chart...for now. Once D'Onta Foreman (Achilles') is healthy, we should see the team at least have a split RBBC between the two. Adding Peterson to the mix would only impact players used on the first two downs and not on passing downs.

TB - Peyton Barber in better shape

                                      Source: PewterReport.com - Scott Reynolds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Peyton Barber said he turned his excess fat into muscle this offseason, and running backs coach Tim Spencer said Barber appears faster and more agile.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Barber needs to be in great shape if he's going to win the starting job for the Bucs in 2018. His primary competition is exciting rookie RB Ronald Jones from USC. Jones plays like a young Jamaal Charles and is going to be tough for a big back like Barber to beat. If Barber impresses, the Bucs should use some form of RBBC. Watch this battle unfold in training camp.

DET - Kerryon Johnson can do it all

Source: Detroit Free Press - Dave Birkett

Detroit Lions RB Kerryon Johnson is a 'three-down player' and can handle all situations, according to running backs coach David Walker.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Walker is right. Johnson, an exciting rookie running back from Auburn, has a bit of Tevin Coleman (Falcons) to his game. The Lions could use him as the primary back in 2018 with Theo Riddick continuing his receiving back role and LeGarrette Blount working as a short-yardage back.

BAL - RB Kenneth Dixon's knee at full strength

                                      Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Ryan Mink

Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon (knee) said he his knee 'feels totally well,' and he is just working on some minor things during OTAs.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Dixon missed all of last year while Alex Collins took over the Ravens backfield. Collins should be the lead back, but a healthy Dixon should push Buck Allen for the change-of-pace role in Baltimore.

CHI - WR Kevin White may be in roster jeopardy

Source: Chicago Tribune - Brad Biggs

Chicago Bears WR Kevin White is not a lock for the 53-man roster, even though he was a second-round draft pick in 2015. Injuries have limited his effectiveness.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

No surprise here. The no.7 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft has only appeared in five games as a pro. He had blazing speed in college at West Virginia but injuries may have robbed him of his best asset. Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and rookie Anthony Miller should be the top three WRs on the depth chart.

BAL - Strong practice from WR Willie Snead

                                      Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Garrett Downing

Baltimore Ravens WR Willie Snead had a 'strong showing' during practice Thursday, May 31, according to Garrett Downing of BaltimoreRavens.com.

The Ravens completely overhauled their WR corps this offseason. Snead could work as the third receiver behind Michael Crabtree and John Brown. He needs a fresh start after things fell apart for him in New Orleans.

NYG - Contract showdown with WR Odell Beckham Jr.?

                                      Source: SNY - Ralph Vacchiano

The New York Giants may be nearing a contract showdown with WR Odell Beckham Jr. He has yet to publicly dismiss an earlier report that he will not set foot on a field without a contract extension.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The headline grabs you, but Beckham has been at voluntary workouts as a good faith move. Anything is possible but it's likely the Giants get a deal for him at some point...and one that should make him the highest paid receiver in the league.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers wants out in his new deal

Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is looking to have an out inserted into his new contract when it is negotiated.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's shocking to think that Rodgers ranks 10th in annual average salary for quarterbacks at this point of his contract. A short-term extension should be in the works between the two sides. Many things have likely been bothersome for Rodgers this offseason (firing QB coach Alex Van Pelt, moving on from WR Jordy Nelson) so the Packers should work to make him happy.

WAS - WR Josh Doctson finally comfortable

                                      Source: CSNMidAtlantic.com - Peter Hailey

Washington Redskins WR Josh Doctson said his confidence continues to grow and he feels as comfortable as he did when he was playing in college.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Doctson was a workhorse wide receiver for TCU in college but has yet to really flash as a pro. We'll see if he can make a connection with new QB Alex Smith as his favorite target.

SEA - RB Chris Carson bulking up

                                      Source: MyNorthwest.com - Stacy Rost

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson said he has added about 10 pounds and feels 'a lot more solid' than he did last season.

                                      [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Carson was the best back on the Seahawks roster last year but a broken leg held him to only four games as a rookie in 2017. With Rashaad Penny selected in the first round, Carson is competing for a backup spot.

Odell has the talent but he also has mental issues . Not sure I would want to pay him the highest salary in the league .
