PHI - QB Carson Wentz's season over

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Updating previous reports, Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament after an MRI Monday, Dec. 11, confirmed the injury.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Terrible news for the Eagles here. They'll turn to Nick Foles as the starter for the rest of the regular season and into the postseason. Next training camp, Wentz should begin on the PUP list as he'll need 9-12 months to fully recover from this injury. Reports indicate Wentz will have surgery at some point this week.

GB - No decision on QB Aaron Rodgers yet

    Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) underwent tests and scans on his collarbone, but head coach Mike McCarthy said there is no clear decision on his status at this point.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Rodgers is still being evaluated by team doctors. Fantasy owners are waiting with bated breath. Rodgers could be cleared to play in Week 15, and the Packers are still in the playoff hunt with their 7-6 record.

NYJ - QB Josh McCown done for season

    Source: Newsday - Calvin Watkins

New York Jets QB Josh McCown (hand) is done for the season and will have surgery to fix his broken left hand, according to head coach Todd Bowles.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCown broke his hand in the shutout loss to the Broncos on Sunday. The Jets will move forward with Bryce Petty as their starter. That makes Christian Hackenberg their primary backup to Petty.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota could be limited

Source: The Tennessean - John Glennon

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (knee) may be limited in practice this week with his knee injury, according to head coach Mike Mularkey.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota doesn't look quite like himself. This knee injury needs rest and time to get right...but the Titans are in a playoff hunt. They'll manage Mariota's knee injury as much as possible. That could lead to him missing days of practice or being limited on most days as the team prepares for their weekly contest.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor to remain the starter

Source: The Buffalo News - Jay Skurski

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) was held out of action in Week 14 based 'mostly' on how he was feeling, according to head coach Sean McDermott, who also stated Taylor will be the starting quarterback when he is healthy again.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McDermott has said this before, so this news comes as no surprise. Taylor missed the snow bowl against the Colts on Sunday, and starter Nate Peterman was banged up. If Taylor isn't ready and Peterman (concussion) is out, that makes Joe Webb the top option. We'll get more information about Taylor's status later in the week.

HOU - QB T.J. Yates likely to start

    Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Houston Texans QB T.J. Yates is likely to start in Week 15 in place of QB Tom Savage (concussion), according to head coach Bill O'Brien.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Yates came in for Tom Savage on Sunday against the 49ers and threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. This upcoming game against the Jaguars should prove to be much more difficult for Yates and the Texans passing game.

NFL - WR Kenny Britt not claimed

    Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates

Former Cleveland Browns WR Kenny Britt is an unrestricted free agent after he went unclaimed on waivers.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

There was $942K left on Britt's deal so it's not a surprise that no team wanted to take on the rest of his contract. Now that he's free and clear, we'd imagine a few teams interested in Britt. He wants to play for a contender, and this just seems like a guy a team like the Patriots would take a chance on. Stay tuned.

IND - RB Frank Gore takes part in practice

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore (hand) fully participated in practice Monday, Dec. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Gore and the Colts have a short week as they play at home against the Broncos on Thursday night. The fact that he's fully participating is a good sign for Gore's availability. The Broncos defense has been up and down this year, so Gore should be considered a RB3 or flex play for fantasy owners in Week 15.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief misses practice

    Source: Colts.com

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (ankle) did not participate in practice Monday, Dec. 11.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Colts have a short week as they play the Broncos on Thursday night. Moncrief missed the game against Buffalo on Sunday, and it looks like he's doubtful for Week 15.

BUF - WR Kelvin Benjamin still under evaluation

Source: The Buffalo News - Jay Skurski

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is 'still being evaluated' in regards to the right knee injury he aggravated in Week 14 against the Indianapolis Colts.

    [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
Benjamin played in the snow against the Colts on Sunday, but his injury was aggravated. The Bills play against the Dolphins at home in Week 15. It looks like Benjamin might be on the doubtful side of questionable in the fantasy semifinals.

            Wednesday Update

NFL - WR Devin Hester officially retires

            Source: Twitter - Devin Hester

Free-agent WR/KR Devin Hester announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

A second-round pick of the Bears in 2006, Hester goes down as one of the best...if not THE best...return man in NFL history. Hester holds the records for career punt return TDs (14) and career non-offensive TDs (20) and the third-most punt return yards (3,695) in league history.

NE - WR Kenny Britt signed by Patriots

Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Kenny Britt (Browns) is signing a two-year deal with the New England Patriots Tuesday, Dec. 12, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

That sounds about right. Britt was a disaster in Cleveland, and he's no lock to be a major contributor with the Patriots. It's a two-year deal, so that shows the team has a bit more commitment to him than some would've expected. Fantasy owners shouldn't be expecting Britt to play at a high level, especially early with the Patriots as he'll be just getting up to speed in the offense.

WAS - TE Jordan Reed lands on IR

            Source: Redskins.com - Stephen Czarda

Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed (hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Dec. 12.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

This move ends Reed's season. He made it through only six games this year, and he wasn't even at full strength during those appearances. Signed through 2021, Reed is one of the most oft-injured players in the NFL. Vernon Davis continues as Washington's starting tight end.

DEN - QB Trevor Siemian fully practices

            Source: NFL

Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (back) was a full participant in practice Tuesday, Dec. 12.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Siemian had a good day against the Jets on Sunday, and he could continue that positive momentum against the Colts on Thursday night. He's a streaming option for fantasy owners in Week 15.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders full go in practice

            Source: NFL

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) participated fully in practice Tuesday, Dec. 12.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanders didn't do much against the Jets in Week 14. He's been battling with this ankle injury for some time. Perhaps he'll get a larger target load against the Colts on Thursday night, but we can't trust him as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex.

SF - Career year for WR Marquise Goodwin

            Source: USA TODAY Fantasy Sports

San Francisco 49ers WR Marquise Goodwin has already tallied 783 yards in 13 games this year. His previous career high was 431 yards in 2016.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Goodwin has really thrived with the 49ers. Through QB changes, Goodwin's speed is getting utilized the right way. The 49ers offense is only going to get better and better, so the dynasty value for Goodwin has not yet peaked.

NFL - Robert Griffin's career not over yet?

            Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Free-agent QB Robert Griffin III (Browns) said he worked out for the Los Angeles Chargers last summer, almost played for the Baltimore Ravens and has received 'interesting offers' from other teams.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

So long as Griffin keeps himself in shape, there might be a team that gives him a chance to compete in camp next year. The Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012, Griffin took the league by storm in his first year. Injuries and problems with head coach Mike Shanahan caused his career to go off track.

LAR - WR Robert Woods likely to return Week 15

            Source: ESPN.com - Alden Gonzalez

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) is 'on track' to play in Week 15 barring any setbacks, according to head coach Sean McVay.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Woods has missed about a month with this shoulder injury as his last appearance was in Week 11. Getting him back this week is a boost for the passing game and should positively impact the numbers for QB Jared Goff. The Rams need all the help they can get as they travel to play the Seahawks in Week 15.

ATL - RB Tevin Coleman not at practice Tuesday

Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - D. Orlando Ledbetter

Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (concussion) was not at the open portion of practice Tuesday, Dec. 12.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Coleman is in the league's concussion protocol right now. He'll have to practice later in the week in order to be cleared. The Falcons have an extra day of rest for Coleman if need be as they travel to play the Buccaneers on Monday night in Week 15.

IND - WR Donte Moncrief likely to return Week 16

Source: 1070 The Fan - Kevin Bowen

Indianapolis Colts WR Donte Moncrief (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Denver Broncos.

            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It's a short week for the Colts as they play on Thursday night. Signs point to Moncrief returning to action for Week 16.

Am I crazy to consider benching Kareem Hunt for Kenyon Drake? Buffalo D has allowed the most points to RBs this year and Hunt (other than last week) has been disappointing lately. Also pick 3Jordy, Kearse, Doctson and Corey Coleman

NO - RB Alvin Kamara able to go in full

                  Source: NewOrleansSaints.com

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (concussion) was able to take part in a full practice session Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Kamara's concussion last week hurt a ton of fantasy owners. If you made it through with little production from the rookie phenom, then you'll go back to him again this week. Kamara is a RB1 against the Jets.

GB - QB Aaron Rodgers on track to play Week 15

                  Source: Packers.com - Wes Hodkiewicz

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (shoulder) is 'preparing to play' in Week 15 against the Carolina Panthers, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We're trusting him as a QB1 upon his return, but rust may make him more of a low-end QB1 for fantasy owners. That means he's not an automatic start, depending on who your other options are at the quarterback position. Rodgers return also means good things for WR Jordy Nelson.

ARI - RB Adrian Peterson's status unclear

                  Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter

Arizona Cardinals RB Adrian Peterson (neck) may not play again this season as head coach Bruce Arians said he has 'no idea' if Peterson will recover from his neck injury in time.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We could see Kerwynn Williams as the starter for the Cardinals again this week. On the road against Washington in Week 15, Williams is a RB3 or deep flex play if he's starting for Arizona.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper unable to practice

                  Source: Raiders.com

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners just can't trust Cooper, especially in the fantasy playoffs. Even if he does play against the Cowboys we couldn't plug him in as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex.

LAR - WR Robert Woods says he's playing Sunday

Source: The Orange County Register - Rich Hammond

Los Angeles Rams WR Robert Woods (shoulder) said that he's playing in the team's Week 15 game Sunday, Dec. 17, versus the Seattle Seahawks.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Woods is back this week and it's a good sign for QB Jared Goff. We like Woods as a WR3 or flex option just in case he has to shake off some rust in front of the 12th man in Seattle.

SEA - TE Jimmy Graham listed as limited

Source: 710 ESPN Seattle - Jessamyn McIntyre

Seattle Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham (ankle) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Graham did nothing last week for fantasy owners, but his skill set and his role on the offense have us plugging him back in as a TE1 in Week 15.

TEN - QB Marcus Mariota takes part in practice

                  Source: 49ers.com

Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Mariota just hasn't looked like himself as he deals with this nagging injury. Even against the 49ers in Week 15, Mariota should only be considered a low-end QB2 for fantasy owners.

HOU - WR Braxton Miller doesn't practice

                  Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans WR Braxton Miller (concussion) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 13, as he remains in the concussion protocol.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller will have to practice if he wants to get cleared in the concussion protocol. Fantasy owners aren't trusting anyone other than DeAndre Hopkins from the Texans WR corps...especially with T.J. Yates at quarterback.

HOU - RB Lamar Miller listed as limited

                  Source: HoustonTexans.com

Houston Texans RB Lamar Miller (knee) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fantasy owners know the Jaguars are a tough draw for the Texans in Week 15. Miller should be considered a RB2 or flex play in the semifinals of the fantasy playoffs.

JAX - WR Marqise Lee limited in practice

                  Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marqise Lee (foot) was listed as a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

If Lee plays, we see him as a WR3 or flex play for fantasy owners. Over the last four games, the Texans pass defense ranks 11th in the NFL as they only allow an average of 214.8 passing yards per game.

CAR - TE Greg Olsen practices in full

                  Source: Panthers.com

Carolina Panthers TE Greg Olsen (foot) was able to practice in full on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Olsen is difficult for fantasy owners to trust at this point. He returned in Week 12, missed Week 13 and didn't make any catches in Week 14. If you've made it this far and are playing in the semifinals of the fantasy playoffs, there are better options than Olsen out there.

NE - WR Brandin Cooks takes part in practice

                  Source: Patriots.com

New England Patriots WR Brandin Cooks (hand) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

The Steelers defense has plenty of breakdowns and the Patriots should be able to expose them. Cooks deep speed and big-play ability make him a high-end WR2 with upside for fantasy owners in Week 15.

DEN - WR Emmanuel Sanders off injury report

                  Source: DenverBroncos.com

Denver Broncos WR Emmanuel Sanders (ankle) was able to practice fully on Wednesday, Dec. 13, and he has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 15 game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday, Dec. 14.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We can't recommend Sanders as anything more than a 'what the heck' flex on Thursday night against the Colts.

Arizona Cardinals RB Kerwynn Williams (ribs) put in a full practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

With Adrian Peterson's (neck) status up in the air, Williams is in line to be the starter for the Cardinals.

Cincinnati Bengals RB Giovani Bernard (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 13.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bernard will need all the rest he can get this week. The Bengals are on the road for a tough match against the Vikings in Week 15. Bernard is a low-end RB2 or flex play, mainly because he should get a heavy workload with rookie Joe Mixon still in the concussion protocol.

PHI - TE Zach Ertz full go Wednesday

                  Source: PhiladelphiaEagles.com

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) practiced fully Wednesday, Dec. 13, in his return from the concussion protocol.

                  [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz is good to go for Sunday's game against the Giants. He's a TE1 upon his return, and new starting quarterback Nick Foles should do whatever it takes to get Ertz the ball as much as possible.

If he plays, Rudolph would be a low-end TE1 against the Bengals on Sunday. Head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters he'll know more about Rudolph's availability for Week 15 against the Cincinnati Bengals later in the week.

OAK - WR Amari Cooper unlikely to play

Source: Las Vegas Review-Journal - Michael Gehlken

Oakland Raiders WR Amari Cooper (ankle) was held out of practice Thursday, Dec. 14, and is not expected to play in Week 15.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooper, much like the Raiders' season, has taken a turn for the worse. There's some real speculation that he will be down for the count for the rest of the season.

PHI - WR Alshon Jeffery out sick Thursday

Philadelphia Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery (illness) did not practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Downgrading -- and make no mistake despite the pleasantries out of Philly, it's a downgrade -- from Carson Wentz to Nick Foles is going to pull down Jeffery's production. Whereas he was a nice WR2 play, he's now at best a WR3 and the floor is really, really low.

CIN - RB Joe Mixon back at practice

Source: The Cincinnati Enquirer - Jim Owczarski

Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) is practicing Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

It would be great for fantasy owners if Mixon comes back this weekend, but the matchup is rough. The Vikings have a tremendous run defense and the Bengals front line is one of the worst in the NFL. Mixon should produce something this weekend if he plays, but high end RB3/low end RB2 is what we're expecting.

NO - RB Alvin Kamara good to go

Updating previous reports, New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (concussion) will play in Week 15, according to head coach Sean Payton.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Against a Jets team which, let's be honest, we're never sure how they will look, we love Kamara. Consider him a solid RB1 in all formats this week and as long as he's healthy, he has to be in your lineups the rest of the way.

Oakland Raiders WR Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) was a full participant in practice for the second consecutive day Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Patterson had some nice games for a few weeks but fell on his face against Kansas City last week. We expect similar struggles against Dallas this week, especially as Jared Cook and Michael Crabtree likely become the focus. We would avoid Patterson completely this week.

Oakland Raiders TE Jared Cook (wrist) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Despite a terrible game by the Raiders against Kansas City, Cook played well. We think he should be solid this week again versus Dallas, and is a nice TE2 start with TE1 upside.

TB - TE Cameron Brate limited in practice Thursday

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate (hip) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Brate has been well and truly replaced by rookie OJ Howard. Despite his two touchdowns against Green Bay in Week 13, he seems an afterthought in this offense.

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Sanu went HAM on New Orleans last week, and we think he could have a decent game this week against Tampa Bay. He is unlikely to replicate the touchdown, but he should produce enough for a WR3 start.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Considering he's still in the protocol, it's hard to feel confident he will be active on Sunday. We think he will be a decent RB3 or flex option if he was though. Tomorrow should put an answer to that question though. No practice, probably no play.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Miller has been pretty inconsistent over the last four games, and the injury doesn't help. Facing a stout Jacksonville defense, we consider Miller to be a RB2/RB3 start.

New Orleans Saints WR Ted Ginn Jr. (ribs) got in a limited practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ginn is two weeks removed from his last serviceable game, and we dislike that trend. His target total has dropped like a rock, and we aren't expecting more of them this time out. He's a very low-end WR5 play even against the Jets.

Bernard did well against the Bears though the overall gameplan was not one which favored running the ball. That was two good games in a row for him, but if Joe Mixon is back on the field, Bernard will not be. He'll be no more than a handcuff again.

New England Patriots WR Brandin Cooks (hand) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Cooks was brutal last week. Tom Brady was off his game and consistently pressured, and Miami did an excellent job of blanketing the receiver. We think he'll have much more success against the Steelers, throwing for 317 yards, 2.62 touchdowns, and 29.2 fantasy points on average since 2004 against them on average during regular season meetings. He's a great QB1 start.

Pittsburgh Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (hamstring) was limited during practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We'd like this matchup a little more if the Patriots didn't always seem to have the Steelers' number. That said, Smith-Schuster should be effective in his return from suspension, and we see him as a borderline WR3/WR4 option.

New York Jets WRs Robby Anderson (hamstring) and Jermaine Kearse (shoulder) participated fully in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Bryce Petty doesn't instill confidence, and that will drag down Anderson and Kearse, both of whom have had good moments this season. Also, the Jets team just looked awful last week and we suspect that funk will continue now that the playoffs are pretty much a non-issue. We'd avoid both of them, but if you are in trouble the most you can expect is WR7 numbers and the hope that they find the end zone.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

McCaffrey should be more effective than he was against a stout Vikings defense, plus we don't expect Jonathan Stewart to vulture that many touchdowns again. While we expect more of McCaffrey, he's still just a RB3 this week, especially as Cam Newton will bit into his carries a bit as well.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Taylor is a shaky start this week regardless of practice. The Dolphins are ripe for the pickings but Taylor's knee issues could limit his mobility and therefore his fantasy production. We would avoid him this week as any more than a QB3 emergency sub.

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

We don't expect to see him this week, and if he did play there is some question who would throw him the ball. That would make us want to avoid Benjamin in any event.

DET - RB Ameer Abdullah on track to play

                              Source: DetroitLions.com

Detroit Lions RB Ameer Abdullah (neck) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 14, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

while he is healthy, the Lions weren't using him a ton when we last saw him in Week 12 and that should continue especially as Theo Riddick has done so well in both the running and passing phases of the game. At best we see Abdullah as an RB4.

PHI - Full practice for TE Zach Ertz

Philadelphia Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Ertz is an excellent TE1 play this week against an up and down defense. While losing Carson Wentz hurts, we expect Nick Foles to use Ertz a ton in what is likely to be a more conservative offense.

NYJ - No practice for RB Matt Forte

Source: New York Daily News - Manish Mehta

New York Jets RB Matt Forte (knee) sat out of practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

With Josh McCown down, the opposition will probably focus on stopping the run - and the run was already inconsistent. If Forte plays, he will probably split carries with Bilal Powell which will limit both of them. We don't see either as more than an RB5. Powell might get a little more production if Forte is out, but not enough to move the needle much.

                              52. NYG - WR Sterling Shepard limited Thursday

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 14.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
A weakened offensive line will make the passing offense even more shaky. That, along with the hamstring, could really impact his production. Right now we don't see him as more than a Hail Mary flex play.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette idle Thursday

                              Source: ESPN.com - Mike DiRocco

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (quadriceps) is out of practice Thursday, Dec. 14.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

While Fournette is a top RB1 start, this is a bit concerning. On the one hand, teams often pick Thursday as an extra day off but on the other, Fournette was out Wednesday as well. Friday will be critical in determining whether he will play -- and how effective he will be. Right now, we have him rated as a solid RB1 but that could change if Friday is another day off for Fournette.

Updating previous reports, New England Patriots WR Kenny Britt's deal is for one year with a team option for 2018. He'll earn a prorated portion of the veteran minimum of $900,000 this year and $1.5 million next year with a chance at $2 million with incentives.

                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Nobody expects much from Britt this week, though would anyone be shocked if the Mad Scientist Bill Belichick managed to get a lot of production from him where nobody has before? Avoid him this week but keep an eye on him going forward.

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson (ankle, leg) has resumed running, according to head coach Pete Carroll, who hopes Carson can return to practice next week.
                              [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]
There had been talk of a setback, but it seems as if Carson still has a shot to go this year. By the time he does, though, fantasy leagues will be done, though a play in daily fantasy could be warranted. Keep an eye on this.

Woods was always expected back this week, in a good sign for Sean McVay's injury transparency. Consider Woods a low wattage boom/bust WR3/Flex at Seattle.

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 15, and is not on the injury report for Week 15.

Clay is in the group of desperation options for Kyle Rudolph owners this week, but isn't a preferred streamer.

BUF - Questionable tag for WR Kelvin Benjamin

                                            Source: BuffaloBills.com

Buffalo Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Dec. 15, and is listed as questionable for Week 15.

Benjamin is a high risk low reward option this week given the state of the Bills passing game and his propensity to hurt his knee this year.

HOU - WR DeAndre Hopkins misses another practice

Source: Houston Chronicle - Aaron Wilson

Houston Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins (toe) missed a second straight practice Friday, Dec. 15.

If Hopkins is active, he's in your lineup. If he's not active, the Houston offense is going to have a lot of trouble getting first downs at Jacksonville.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph (ankle) did not practice for a third straight day Friday, Dec. 15.

Rudolph won't play this week. O.J. Howard, Eric Ebron, Vernon Davis, Ben Watson, and Adam Shaheen are some of the names desperate Rudolph owners should look for on the waiver wire.

JAX - RB Leonard Fournette questionable for Week 15

                                            Source: Jaguars.com

Jacksonville Jaguars Leonard Fournette (quad) is listed as questionable for Week 15 versus the Houston Texans.

                                            [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Fournette could play with no practice - and should be in our lineups if that happens - but it's hard to see how the Jaguars will benefit from that against a Texans team that they can beat without him. If his injury is bad enough that practice seemed like more harm than good, then some rest is in order.

BUF - QB Tyrod Taylor confirmed starter

                                            Source: BuffaloBills.com - Chris Brown

Updating previous reports, Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) was named the starter for Week 15, according to head coach Sean McDermott.

Taylor is still only a desperation play with the state of this offense. He could impress other teams that might make him a starter next year.

BAL - WR Mike Wallace says he'll play Sunday

                                            Source: ESPN.com - Jamison Hensley

Baltimore Ravens WR Mike Wallace (ankle) said he'll return to practice Friday, Dec. 15, and will play in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns. Wallace has yet to practice this week due to an ankle injury.

Wallace has a decent chance at converting a long play, possibly even a touchdown, against a suspect Browns defense.

                                                      QUARTERBACK

Aaron Rodgers | Shoulder | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Rodgers did not appear on the injury report this week. The Packers were not required to make a roster move to activate him until Saturday afternoon. There were no indications this week Rodgers would have been listed as anything other than a full participant. Already throwing with a full and free range of motion for four weeks, Rodgers needed only to gain clearance for contact. Though that briefly seemed in doubt earlier this week, Rodgers was cleared and will play. Arm strength and stamina will not be issues. It's possible Rodgers takes some time to reacclimate to the speed of live game action. But he returns to a healthier offensive line, an established running game, and a healthy receiving group. Expect Rodgers to do well against the Carolina secondary.

Mariota sprained his knee last week but it did not affect him in practice this week. There was a discussion among the local media about how much Mariota's nagging injuries may be affecting his play but the Titans deny any issues. The full week of practice looks reassuring but it's likely Mariota's rushing ceiling is lower than usual.

Taylor was likely close but not quite ready to return last week. This week, he recovered well enough to fully practice. Nathan Peterman also returned to a full practice after last week's concussion but will be inactive. Taylor may be at risk of an in-game aggravation of the bruise to his patellar tendon but the full practices suggest the Bills won't be limiting his ability to scramble by game plan.

Nathan Peterman (concussion) and Tom Savage (concussion) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

Unless there's a clear reason to fear a change in workload due to movement on the depth chart, players should immediately be expected to return to their pre-injury workload. That should prove true for Kamara this week.

Fournette did not practice with a quad injury. Ian Rapoport reported the injury as a contusion to the side of his leg on Friday and tweeted Fournette would play if he "can be fully functional." Had the injury been a strained quad muscle and Fournette been unable to practice, I'd consider him doubtful. This injury is something that may continue to improve with treatment. Doug Marrone described the team's approach to Fournette's availability as "cautious." The last time Marrone used those words, the Jaguars held Fournette out while he recovered from an ankle sprain.

ESPN's Mike Clay discussed Fournette's status with ESPN's Jacksonville beat writer Michael DiRocco, who leaned toward Fournette playing but in a limited role. That doesn't fit with the Jaguars' approach with Fournette this year. He's been both active and inactive after a week of missed practice. If active, they've run the offense through him whether he practiced or not. On the weeks the team hasn't been comfortable with his health, Fournette has been inactive.

Expect an update in the early morning hours on Sunday. The Jaguars play during the early window. We'll know Fournette's status officially then. I'd lean toward the doubtful side of questionable for now but this injury is truly day-to-day.

Saturday Update: Chris Mortensen reported Fournette is out. Ian Rapoport tweeted the Jaguars expect to have Fournette back next week.

Now a full week after suffering a concussion, Coleman has yet to be cleared for individual drills. It's highly unlikely a team advances a player through multiple protocol stages -- which is what it would take to clear Coleman right now -- in a single day when the player has taken multiple days to reach the exercise stages. Coleman will likely be ruled out on Saturday's game status report and miss the Monday night game. I'll update with expectations if Coleman practices on Saturday.

Saturday Update: Coleman has been ruled out.

The Bengals returned Mixon to a full Friday practice. Though he's listed questionable, he's expected to play. Other players recovering from recent concussions in Cincinnati - Vontaze Burfict and Dre Kirkpatrick -- were not returned to practice and were declared out. The trend was obviously more positive with Mixon. Assuming no unexpected setbacks through pregame warmups, Mixon should return to his pre-injury workload.

Saturday Update: Despite the clearance for a full Friday practice, the Bengals announced Mixon did not receive clearance to play. He is out.

Forte is officially considered a game-time decision. He has played this season and seen his usual workload in weeks he's not practiced. Watch the early inactives for Forte's official status.

                                                      Others of note:
LeSean McCoy (knee), Christian McCaffrey (shoulder), Lamar Miller (knee), Mike Davis (ribs), Jerick McKinnon (shoulder), Giovani Bernard (knee), Kerwynn Williams (ribs) and Elijah McGuire (ankle) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation.Adrian Peterson (neck) and Damien Williams (shoulder) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

                                                      WIDE RECEIVER

DeAndre Hopkins | Toe | Questionable | Expected to Play

Hopkins didn't practice on Thursday or Friday and is listed questionable with a toe injury. Both Bill O'Brien and Hopkins himself said he'd play. While it feels risky to trust receivers with midweek toe and foot issues, Hopkins has played effectively through injuries without practicing in the past. Unless we get an unexpectedly worrisome report this weekend, Hopkins is likely to see his usual targets.

                                                      Robert Woods
                                                      | Shoulder | Not Listed | Expected to Play

Woods was expected to return this week after successfully returning to individual drills last week. Now cleared for contact, Woods has fully practiced this week and is not listed on the Rams' game status report. Shoulder injuries rarely prevent a player from remaining in reasonable condition and the full practices have likely helped Woods to accelerate the process of returning to football speed. Although there's no guarantee a now-healthy player can execute successfully, you can expect Woods to see his pre-injury snap count. It's unlikely he'll be limited to high-leverage situations only.

                                                      Chris Hogan

Hogan was not productive in his first game back last week but he was on the field for 55 of 61 offensive snaps and targeted on five plays. He showed no signs of limitation and can be expected to see a similar percentage of offensive snaps this week.

                                                      JuJu Smith-Schuster

Practice Participation: Wed - Not Listed | Thurs - Limited | Fri - Limited

The Steelers are generally a straightforward injury read. If players aren't practicing by the end of the week, they don't play -- unless their name is Antonio Brown. Less than 50% of their questionable players are active on game day. Smith-Schuster's situation is unique. It's usually unlikely for a young player with a recently aggravated hamstring strain to play. But the Steelers have the Patriots this week in a huge game with bye week and home field implications. If Smith-Schuster is close enough, the Steelers may keep him active in case of an emergency. Expect a limited role at best if the Steelers put Smith-Schuster on the active roster.

                                                      Kelvin Benjamin

Benjamin told reporters he's "battling through the soreness and stuff" on Friday and wanted "to get out there with [his] teammates" this week. Sean McDermott told reporters he felt good about Benjamin's status this week. But those observing Buffalo's practice noted Benjamin to be limping significantly most of the week and taking very few individual reps after last week's aggravation. If Benjamin is active, it won't take much to precipitate another setback. A misstep, awkward tackle, or contact with the ground could cause pain and limited range of motion. If Benjamin plays, it's best to consider him snap-to-snap.

                                                      Devin Funchess

Ron Rivera told reporters the Panthers planned to rest Funchess on Friday in anticipation of him playing. We've seen this before in Carolina and Rivera has never intentionally misled reporters. The full Thursday practice would support the team's contention. Expect a Sunday morning note of reassurance.

                                                      Mike Wallace

Wallace said he'd return to practice on Friday and play Sunday. He made good on the first part of his guarantee on Friday and should make good on the second. It's difficult to project how limited Wallace is and what his risk of aggravation may be.

                                                      Others of note: Michael Thomas
(eye), Adam Thielen (knee), Robby Anderson (hamstring), Alshon Jeffery (illness), Brandin Cooks (hand), Sterling Shepard (hamstring), Marqise Lee (knee), Mohamed Sanu (knee), Jermaine Kearse (shoulder), and Cordarrelle Patterson (hip) have practiced, are not listed on the game status report, and are expected to play without limitation. Amari Cooper (ankle), Allen Hurns (ankle), and John Brown (toe) have been declared out. I'll update return to play expectations on all inactive players in Monday's column.

Kyle Rudolph | Ankle | Upgraded to Questionable | GAme-time Decision

Rudolph was not able to practice this week. The Vikings listed Rudolph doubtful on their game status report. However, when Mike Zimmer was asked if Rudolph had a chance to play he told reporters no. It's possible this could become a multiple-week issue.

Saturday Update: The full week of missed practice and Mike Zimmer's declaration Rudolph would not be ready this week was enough for me to project Rudolph inactive. On Saturday, the Vikings upgraded Rudolph's status to questionable. Zimmer's comments remain concerning, however. If the Vikings choose to activate Rudolph if he looks good during warmups, he'll be at high risk of an in-game aggravation and a limited role. Projecting his statistical upside is difficult in this scenario. Like many tight ends, Rudolph's limited role would likely include red zone targets. If active, consider him a high-risk, low-floor player but one with some statistical upside.

After clear evidence the Panthers planned to limit Olsen's workload in his first game back three weeks ago, there were no hints of concern last week. Olsen was targeted just once but his snap count was not limited. He played 59 of 64 offensive snaps -- including a brief absence to have a mild ankle sprain examined and taped on the sideline. After another week of full practice, Olsen is not listed on the game status report and can be expected to see nearly every offensive snap against a suspect Green Bay linebacker group.

I expect Brate to fully practice on Saturday. However, the Buccaneers commonly list players they expect to play as questionable. I'll update the table with Brate's status after Saturday's reports.

Saturday Update: Brate fully practiced Saturday, is not listed on the game status report, and is likely to see his usual workload.

Tough news for Fournette here. Chris Ivory is expected to get the start.

The Bengals move forward with Gio Bernard as their primary running back. It's a tough match against the Vikings this week, but Bernard has low-end RB1 potential merely based on what should be a large workload as a runner and receiver. Rookie Brian Hill (a favorite of ours in dynasty leagues) backs up Bernard again.

Devonta Freeman is the lead back for the Falcons and he should have a nice game against the Buccaneers on Monday night. Terron Ward will be in line as the backup to Freeman in Week 15.

Here we go fantasy owners! Rodgers has returned and has the potential to perform like a QB1 in the semifinals of the fantasy playoffs. His return is great news for WR Jordy Nelson and should provide an overall boost for the Packers receiving corps.

We'll see Kenyan Drake get a large workload for the Dolphins again. In the semifinals of the fantasy playoffs, Drake has RB1 potential and could finish as a top-10 play at the position in PPR leagues. Williams hasn't played since Week 12, so Senorise Perry continues as the primary backup to Drake.

With QB Jameis Winston spreading the ball around so much Brate's fantasy value has suffered. This week on Monday night against the Falcons, Brate (and O.J. Howard) is a TE2 for players still going in the semifinals of the fantasy playoffs.

The Buccaneers can get beat through the air, so Sanu has WR3 value on Monday night.

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams is the team's 'workhorse running back,' even with fellow rookie Aaron Jones completely healthy, according to ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky.

Williams will get most of the work on the ground, and things could be more opened up with QB Aaron Rodgers back in action this week. It's a tough matchup against the Panthers in Week 15, but Williams could perform like a high-end RB2 because of a potentially large workload.

Minnesota Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is listed as questionable Saturday, Dec. 16, after appearing as doubtful on the injury report.

Rudolph did not practice this week, so fantasy owners need to dial down expectations for him in Week 15. This makes him a risky start in the semifinals of the fantasy playoffs.

Updating previous reports, Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian (shoulder) will not require surgery on his sprained left shoulder, according to head coach Vance Joseph.

                                                        [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ FOOTBALLGUYS VIEW ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ] ]

Siemian's future with the Broncos is up in the air. He's started for most of the last two seasons, and the team has failed to reach the postseason in both of those years. Siemian is not accurate and not durable enough to trust as a starter...or even as a backup. He's had four shoulder injuries (including one that required surgery last offseason) over the last two years. He will be able to fully recover from his injury with rest and rehabilitation.

Fantasy owners should be expecting this with Woods returning to action this week. Consider him a flex play or low-end WR3 in Week 15.

The hope is that he will be able to return to the team in the playoffs, but his regular season is over. No surgery will be required for the injury.

A torn calf sounds like an injury that takes a lot longer than four weeks to heal. We'll have to go without Brown in our redraft leagues and discount him greatly in our playoff leagues. Juju Smith-Schuster and Martavis Bryant will both be WR2 plays against Houston next week.
